Found ourselves in Alexandria a couple of weeks ago for my dad's hospital stay. Needing lunch and mental break we decided on... something close so we dropped in on Pamela's ?? What a blessing! Walking in, hearing the fry cook offer food to a man thathadn't eaten that day and being greeted with smiles and warmth then to top it off the food was on point. Steak fries wereperrrrfect, and I am picky!! My daughter got the hot lunch plate and ate until she was stuffed. The red beans and rice arepacked with sausage, the sides are just like you would find on a Sunday at your grandmother's house. Don't miss the opportunityto stop in and share a meal with this family. You can taste the love in every bite! This is southern hospitality at its best! Do not miss this delicious food! The baked... chicken was cooked perfectly. The green beans, mac n cheese, and candied yams tasted like my Mama?s! The complimentary cornbread& cake were delicious! The owner and all the people working were so friendly and welcoming to us as out-of-town folks. We try tochoose local, family-owned, from-scratch restaurants as much as possible when we travel. Fantastic! Sooooooo good. Hopped off the highway while driving through and wanted a local place with great food. What a gem! I... can?t recommend this place highly enough. The smothered chicken, mashed potatoes, and Mac & cheese were amazing. And cornbread &cake with every entree! If I ever pass this way again, I?m eating here again. Passing through Alexandria and wanted Cajun food for lunch. Saw the great reviews, and they were right! Lots of food and it was... delicious. The smothered chicken was tender and the flavor was amazing. Even our 2 teenage boys liked it! And what a nice treatto get both cornbread and a piece of cake with each plate.
