This place is a hidden gem for sure, away from all the fast pace of the DC food scene. Here you can have a quiet brunch or... lunch on a rooftop with amazing views. It's not too far out of the city. Cafe 44 is the true definition of a hidden treasure. Seriously, this restaurant is awesome. The food is delicious and flavorful.... The staff are extremely polite and experienced. But what sets Cafe 44 apart from the others is the stunning view! You can enjoya well crafted drink while enjoying the city skyline of Washington, DC to the bright lights of the National Harbor. Delicious ???? My first time dining at Cafe 44 and I will be returning soon. I was invited to celebrate a birthday and they... made a great choice. The atmosphere, drink, food, and views were amazing. I enjoyed the boubon barbecue meatballs, house salad,and the creole shrimp linguini (add chicken). SO GOOD!!! Our server was excellent. The computer went down but he was able tokeep things moving. The other staff members were all friendly and very helpful. Great job Cafe 44! Read more
The view of the area from their outdoor patio is the best. Their customer service was great as well. My server was a young lady... with a unique name and she was very accommodating. We ordered the pepperoni flatbread and it was too crunchy for me. She made noexcuses and put in a new order for me. The Garden Truffle flatbread was delicious. It was sweet and savory. Great service and great food! My husband and I visited on a Saturday morning for brunch and got a chance to sample the prix fixe... menu as well as a breakfast item from the main menu. The biscuits and sausage gravy are amazing! The shrimp and grits were alsodelicious. They have so much outdoor seating with a great view of the Potomac. Highly recommend. Read more
Tried the prix-fixe menus both times. The shrimp and grits are really decent. Bottomless mimosas are solid. The bread pudding... French toasts were good but really sweet. Phenomenal service, great layout, and amazing bites. Service here was inviting, we were served by Hannah and she was full of... smiles, great recommendations, and personality. The layout is almost perfect as the restaurant seating reminds me of a"Goldilocks" just-right feeling with spacing (Keeping in mind the winter weather doesn't allow for some of their best outdoorseating to be accessible). Preparation matters here, the dishes are well balanced in flavor profile and they also give greatportion sizes -you will not leave hungry. . They had me hooked with perfectly poached eggs. Cafe 44 is a must visit especiallynow during the winter...I get the feeling the summer time crowd will be extensive reservations will be a necessary. Read more
This place has some of the best views!! Ambience, food, service were all great! They made great use of their space for outdoor... seating. And we were fortunate to have a live band playing below during our dinner. I got the short ribs for my meal. It wasvery tender, but the only thing that held one star back, from the full 5 star review, was I felt it lacked someflavor. Regardless, I highly recommend and will definitely return!! Read more
