It was my first visit to Hinata and Sushi joints in the VA/DC area in general. Service was chill, good and light. The food was... served rather quickly within 3-4 minutes of us ordering. The spicy California rolls and eel wrapped sushi?s were delicious. Myonly comment would be that it was really quiet. They didn?t have any music playing In the background and all I heard was othersmunching on their foods which again, isn?t a complaint but just an observation. Secondly the decor in my opinion didn?t matchthe cuisine being served. It was just brutalist concrete polished and covered in Epoxy? which again looks nice but it wascertainly a first for me seeing a sushi place with this kind of setting. Read more

A local favorite! This place never has many done in patrons and I don't know why ... It is great sushi! I do see many to go... orders. We had the jalapeno poppers which were unique and tasty. Truly one of the best restaurants in Alexandria. I?m baffled by how delicious, fresh, and high-quality the food is while still... being at an accessible price point. I?ve visited or had takeout from this restaurant at least 10 times now, and the quality andservice are at the highest levels every single time. Tofu appetizer is the best tofu I?ve ever had. Decided to try this place for the first time. Had an allergy to one of their soups (no soup description on the menu so didn?t... know til I got it)and the server (Yosita) was so kind and apologetic. She came back a few minutes later saying they made a miniallergy friendly bowl for me. It was so sweet. We tried the Bulgogi Bun- It was AMAZING. Best bun I?ve ever had in the area.Chicken Katsu was fantastic and perfect in every way. Shiitake rolls were perfectly bite sized and well done. 10/10 for thisplace.
