Attended Kitchen Cray for a Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce event. I had seen this restaurant bc it is near my job... but never stopped in to eat. Oh my gosh, the oxtails, which I have never had, were out of this world. I also had the partywings and the macaroni and cheese, both had flavors dancing in my mouth. It was a bit chilly outside so they turned on theoutdoor heat lamps, that kept us warm. I don?t know about the others food on the menu but would definitely recommend what Ihad. Read more

I live off H St. in Washington DC and there is ALWAYS a long line outside Kitchen Cray so I?ve been dying to go there. I was so... excited when I found out there was one close to my hotel in Alexandria. I called 3 times to make a reservation but no oneanswered. I decided to take a chance and drive there and was happy to find out there was no long wait. From the minute I parkedI could hear the music and that got me even more excited. I ordered the French toast and chicken and was very disappointed. Thechicken was good but I did not enjoy the French toast at all. Deonsai was a great server despite the disappointing meal. My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant! There was a dj and they have hookah if you're in to that. We did wait a little... while before anyone showed to take our order but the food was delicious. The fish was fried a little too hard and there was atiny hair in my food that I realized half way into my meal. I still would go back when we visit the area again Read more

I had high hopes for this place but it was a big disappointment. We were visiting from Texas and heard about this restaurant... from a friend. However, she visited the one in Maryland. We decided to try this location because it was closer to the airport wecame in on. We hadn't eaten all day, so we were quite hungry. The atmosphere was nice with R&B music playing in the background. We were told it would be an hour wait. We decided an hour was doable. But we actually waited more than a hour and half. Onceseated it took 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge and take our order. My sister and I ordered the chicken and french toast,my daughter had the seafood omelette with potatoes and my husband had the lamb chops and grits. We waited another 45 minutes forour food. The lamp chops and grits were perfection absolutely delicious and I wish I had ordered it. The chicken with my dishwas well seasoned and crispy. The French Toast was dry... not sure if it's prepared differently in the North, but there was nobutter or egg on the toast. It was sweet and that's about it. My daughter's potatoes were cold. We spent 3 hours at thisrestaurant...to me a waste of time. Read more

We RSVP?d for brunch 6/11/22. The food was really good but the service was horrible. We started our order with a carafe for... Passionfruit Mimosas and 2 Moscow mules. The server said they didn?t have passion fruit so we ordered mango. After 10 mins shebrought the carafe no drinks. After 20 mins we asked about our drinks and she said she forgot to ask what type of Vodka wewanted. We waited another good while before she mentioned they didn?t have ginger beee and couldn?t make our drinks. Then we hadto drink the mimosas out of plastic cups because they said the champagne glasses were in the dishwasher. I had a hair in myshrimp and grits???? They brought me a new one but It took like 30 additional minutes. Then we asked for a hookah and they saidthey didn?t have all the pieces to make a complete hookah but we were assured we would be next. However two tables receivedhookahs before us and these tables were seated after us. The entire experience was horrible. The server Jasmine apologizedprofusely and it?s not her fault but it definitely wasn?t worth what we paid. Will not recommend. Read more

The food and service was great. I got the chicken & French toast and my partner got the fried lemon pepper lamb chops and both... were soo good. It was a pleasant surprise that they had a DJ and hookah. The bartender James service was great as well. Idefinitely will be back! I also watched them sanitize tables between use and they asked each patron to sanitize thier handsbefore being seated which I greatly appreciated. Update: I went back for mothers day and the food was great again and the bartender Crystal was amazing, she was so sweet. Read more

Such an unexpected location in a corporate park but, the vibe is immaculate. There's greenery, the outdoor seating area has... umbrellas and heaters. We chose to sit inside. I felt it was a little bit noisy, everyone was having a great time and enjoyingthose they were dining with. The food and the service 100% worth the drive from anywhere. I had the catfish and grits, deliciousand the portion was huge. My brunch buddy has the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were large and the grits had lump crab meat aswell. We shared a half order of French toast and it was perfect since our other dishes were savory. We did not have alcohol andour bill was 72.00 before tip. It's pricey but, the vibe, food and portion sizes justify the price. Go and bring your appetite! Read more
