Unfortunately, this location isn?t one to come to with high hopes of the usual comfort food followed by coffee + dessert. The... food was mediocre at best, the desserts were not warm or good, and the coffee (!!) ? just look at the picture. On a health note,be sure check if the cream is actually cold; you might get warm and clumpy like I did. The service was also mediocre. The ladywho took our order acted like she didn?t want to be there. She perked up considerably while pressuring me to leave a good reviewand mention her name, then telling me she?d be looking for it. Very disappointing experience. It used to be a good restaurant with a French like environment, now it is just like any other... restaurant run by employees that don?t care much about cleanliness and customer service. Portions are smaller, everything issmaller, even the plates. When getting my coffee the area was dirty with no cream for my coffee. I also missed the bread and jamthat they used to offer. Ordered on doordash and part of the meal was forgotten. On top of that, no utensils were provided and the $20 chicken meal I... ordered looked like a TV dinner. Chicken had 0 seasoning on it and the portions overall were so tiny. Spent a total of $75 on 3people and none of us were full nor satisfied with our meals after finishing which is insanely disappointing because I did findpreviously that the desserts tasted very good. After placing a to go order at this restaurant and waiting for very close to 20 minutes, I noticed that people were leaving that... came in after me. I also noticed the family that was behind me in ordering were already at their table and eating. I tried tobring this to the staffs attention but they were especially rude about it (primarily Samantha- at least that is the name I wasgiven upon requesting it). They could have really just checked to see if my order had been handed off to someone else. Ireceived a refund and no food after wasting so much time. Only ordered breakfast food and it was good. Almost homemade tasting which I love. I was disappointed because I did a door dash... which is extra money to get delivered and they didn't include utensils nor any napkins. Luckily I was in a location where I wasable to find some. Read more
The atmosphere was indeed charming and rustic. Baked goods were fresh. Desserts were perfectly made. There was a full range of... beverages to choose from. There were numerous samplers to choose from too. Staff was pleasant. And, of course, really tastymeals. Read more
The restaurant is set up very similar to Panera Bread. Plenty of covered outside and indoor seating, fireplace, and lots of... outlets. French cuisine with breakfast ALL DAY! I ordered the sausage egg and cheese croissant. It was good with some pepperadded. Bit too much egg compared to the portion size of the croissant. Will definitely be back to try lunch or dinner menu. Love this la Madeleine in Kingstown. Great place to chill while waiting for my daughter to finish dance class at MSA. The people... who work there are quirky and fun. I go fairly regularly and they know me. Sinidu is always kind and gives me a smile (behindher mask). Food is solid, music is an interesting mix of French pop, classic rock and jazz. I like the warmth of the fire aswell. Read more
