I went here with family after a visit to George Washington’s Mount Vernon! The moment I walked I was like “Wow, what a cool... diner!!!”, and from that moment, I knew that we were going to have an awesome dining experience, which I did!!! Our table wasconveniently located upstairs right next to a medium-sized window, making it an ideal place for People watching on King Street!It was so enjoyable to see people walking down the street and jamming to music on a Saturday afternoon in the Summertime!!!!!???????? For the dining experience, as an appetizer, I ordered Chinese-style ribs, which were coated with honey and were evenquite juicy, which made it quite toothsome!!! Everyone at my table really enjoyed the appetizer, which was made with plenty oflove! For the main course, I ordered the Grilled New York Steak, which tasted like a Whole Lotta Love!!! This would be afive-star review, had our steaks not been overcooked, since we wanted it cooked medium, but they came out as well-done, whichremoved its juiciness and its deliciousness. Overall it was a very great happy hour experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was great as always. The only reason... why I can’t give it a complete five stars is due to the lack of music. The food was delicious as was the service. We had the smothered catfish. Can’t remember The name of the other dish but it was... catfish and poached eggs with mixed vegetables. The vegetables were a little more firm than my liking but I wanted somethinghealthy. Both were very tasty and well flavored. Would recommend and will return. The food was great. We had she crab soup, soft shell crabs, and horseradish encrusted salmon. The food is delicious, fresh, and... cooked perfectly. The Old Town building has a cool vibe, but not accessible for people who aren’t mobile. My guest had aninjured knee and painfully had to climb the stairs to the bathroom on the second floor. The biggest issue was the service. Theentire meal felt so rushed. It wasn’t crowded and no one was waiting. Constant pressure for no reason. You know how you go outwith your friend you haven’t seen and you’re so excited to see each other so you talk for a few before even opening the menu… well that ain’t happening here. The waitress stood over us and basically forced us to open the menu and select a drink.Same with every course. I felt like I couldn’t even have a decent conversation. Amazing experience for lunch! We split an alligator soup and New Orleans Smothered Catfish. The soup was ok but the catfish was... incredible. The waitress was very attentive and polite and even split our dish into 2 with no extra charge. Would return againand would definitely recommend! Read more
