We weren't expecting much. Came in on a whim. We feel like we've found a hidden gem. It was counter service and self serve for a... lot of things so we weren't thinking the food would be as good as it was. It was AMAZING ????????! First off the place wasnicely decorated and had a great atmosphere. There was a good looking party room and bar too. I was with my kids so we grabbed abooth. The gelato looked good but we didn't try any of it. The cakes too looked amazing. I LOVE those soda machines that letyou add mixers to your drink so that alone will have me coming back. I ordered the vindaloo chicken wings as my entree eventhough it's a starter. CRAZY spicy ????????! The flavor was so delicious. The chicken was falling apart, see my video. It fellright off the bone and was tender and moist. Not like any chicken wings I've ever had. My daughter ordered the ultimate baconcheeseburger. Fluffy toasted brioche bun, artisanal mustard sauce, shredded lettuce, bacon that was crisped PERFECTLY, beef wasto die for and cooked exactly right. Fries were fresh and light. Golden crunch with tender center even though they were ashoetring cut that often gets overcooked. My other daughter ordered chicken and waffles. Chicken was moist and batter wasawesome. We really look forward to coming back. ???? Read more

First visit. Sunday brunch. Very nice dining room. You order at the counter and find a table. Nice choice of food items and... good beverage selection. They have a bar but it's Texas and you can't enjoy any adult beverages until after 10:00. They have acovered patio. Food was good. From lower left: big plate, chocolate chip pancakes, chorizo tacos and breakfast croissant. Read more

Nice environment, food is good with great presentation. There?s a bar so you can actually order drinks if you like to take a... sip. A little bit different than usual cafe, you make your order at the cashier and take your food at the counter when it?sready. So it?s kinda self serve. The Nashville hot chicken Benedict is awesome but the staff says it?s only availableseasonally. We ordered the healthy omelette which is okay; nothing to complain but not as impressive as the omelette. Ingeneral, this is a place where I will come back as they have dessert which looks delicious but I didn?t get a chance to try. IfI could complain one thing, it?d be the price. I think it?s a bit pricey compared to other cafes; but Walnut definitelyprovides a nicer and higher-end atmosphere. Read more

We liked Black Walnut, had been eating here for a few years now. Either sitting outside in the fall or enjoyed tall window view... inside its air conditioned room on a 105° day liked today. We always received great service and excellent food. There wasn't adish we didn't like here. My favorite was Santa Fe Salad. Loved its spicy mango cilantro dressing, the chilled thiny-slicedchicken was juicy and tender every single time. Husband liked the Turkey Croissant Club, how it's served warm and flaky. Afull bar, beers, cakes and gelato were also available. Will recommend. Read more

Ok, I spied this place a couple of weeks ago and finally got in to check it out. We had dinner, which was good but we'll be... coming back for breakfast or weekend brunch for sure. We had the Mediterranean Chicken and Texas-Sized Wagyu Chicken FriedSteak. It was all really good but the Mediterranean Chicken has tons of different flavors going on. I thought the cafe wasclean, orderly and open with plenty of seating with small tables or big booths to spread out in. The deserts looked awesome, andthey have some interesting mixed drinks and wine too. Can't wait to try more at this place! Read more

Yesterday I decided I wanted some breakfast it was my first time here and I asked the cashier what would she recommend. She... started off fantastic and let me take my time. I went with the big breakfast plate with potatoes, pancakes (extra cost forchocolate chips) and I went with double bacon but next time ill choose sausage and bacon. They have many many options forchoices of meat which is fantastic. I also got a caramel latte which was absolutely delicious, the whipped cream on top was coldand when sipping in helped cool off my mouth from the hot coffee. I?m normally an iced coffee gal but decided on hot yesterdaybecause it was cloudy. The food smelled delicious, the taste was even better. I got so full only off the bacon potatoes andeggs. The pancake was also delicious but also a really big size. The potatoes really had good seasoning and a bit of kick whichpaired really well with the runny sunnyside up egg. The bacon had a bit to much pepper but I just scraped it off and continuedeating. Overall this place is absolutely delicious, prices are reasonable to me. I paid $23 but added a tip. I will be back! Food was very good, quite a bit overpriced for self service of most everything. They overcharged us for cheddar on two orders of... grits that had no cheddar when delivered. Manager 'corrected it' but I should have checked the receipt when he made saidcorrection. He only credited one, not both. Not pleased that they upcharged for cheddar without disclosing it was $1.59 more, each, then did not even include cheddar on top!!! The bloody Mary flight was great. Lobster Benedict was awesome. I went with one of my daughters and it was a great evening dinner place. I enjoyed the food, ambiance and staff. One suggestion... for this business is to provide a waitress other than making it feel like half fast food joint. Read more
