The staff was so friendly and kind to give me their recommendations for what to have to eat! The food was exquisite and... affordable, on top of that, the restaurant recently completed a renovation so the WOW factor as at an all time high! There was a good variety of dishes available. The area is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. We did not have to wait... at all even though our table was large. Unfortunately, cleanliness did seem to be an issue at the bathroom, which is not a goodindicator of what the kitchen must look like. The menus were also a little soiled. Read more
Me and my fiance come here at least once a week, and his family as far back as his grandparents have been coming here for years.... Always nice staff, good service, and good food for a reasonable price. We particularly like the soups. Read more

The Golden Gate Diner has been one of the only places in my memory that can always be relied upon for amazingly well prepared... food at fair prices. The owner is extremely personable and friendly and on site at least 6 days a week. It's amazing that I havenot been there more often but recently with many places having to change their menus because of supply chain disruptions somehowGus has managed to keep it affordable and not sacrificing the quality whatsoever. It is SO refreshing to visit an establishment that still takes pride its work. The restaurant was bright, cheerful and... especially clean. The service was swift, courteous and friendly. All the employees were constantly in motion ? organizing,prepping, tidying up. The food was served promptly and at the right temperature. It wasn?t overly salted and the portions werenot too big, nor too small. We had the Wednesday dinner specials and the lemon meringue pie and left the restaurant verysatisfied and feeling as though we had taken a trip back in time. If we ever find ourselves in Allentown again, we will be sureto pay the Golden Gate Diner another visit. I will be having breakfast on that visit since they serve it all day! Read more
