PEOPLE.... this was BBQ BEFORE it was BBQ. In ages past, people (in this case we mean the PA dutch) would extend large cuts of... pork, turkies etc... by "barbecuing" them, which meant stewing them down in a mix of ketchup and vinegar and some mustard sothey would keep. THAT is what BBQ really is, and that is what they serve here. It is not and has nothing to do with smokersand pits or brisket or pulled pork or any other modern connotation you think it is. So don't attack them for not being BBQ, theproblem is your lack of proper understanding. Everyone from this area over 50 knows when they were young and in school havingcafeterias that served pork or turkey "barbecue" now and then, and THIS is what that was. Read more
Scouting BBQ for the Food Network App, Ritz Barbecue was making some bold claims so I had to try it. The Service and people were... super nice and the nesolgia of the outside building was epic. All that lured me in the door with World Famous BBQ. Having triedsome of the Best in the country, the bar is set really high. For BBQ, this place fell below the bar. We went in for ice cream. Many flavors and toppings and great taste. My nitpick is the pineapple topping isn't pure pineapple... slices. It was a pineapple slice mixed with pineapple syrup type topping. Just a preference discrepancy. Read more
