Waitress was extremely nice and talkative, Atmosphere in restaurant is pleasant, I ordered a Maki Combo and got the Boston Roll,... Philly Roll and the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll, the Boston Roll was standard and wasn't anything special but was still good PhillyRoll was delicious and the Spicy tuna Roll was amazing and just melted in my mouth I also got a Uni roll which overshadowed theentire experience I got it a long time ago and liked it but I guess my taste buds have changed, it melted in my mouth in themost unpleasant way and was hard to swallow, the aftertaste was gross as well. But minus my experience with the Uni the Sushiwas amazing and I wouldn't put this to 4 Stars based on my own personal taste. At least the presentation of the Uni waspleasant. I also got Shrimp and Scallop hibachi with Brown fried rice which was simply amazing, scallops were big and perfectlycooked and the same can be said for the shrimp, rice was different, but in a good way, amazing variety of veggies as well, thesecame with miso and a salad. The Miso was excellent extremely flavorful, and the salad was good of course, the same type of goodsalad you'd expect at any similar restaurant. great ambiance and dining experience! Had dinner here, was amazed by the sushi offered here along with the menu and the... interior. Service was good too. We had the Aged dashi (Tofu) which was yummy - the sauce was great, The Premium Sashimi combo,which is a must have for Sashimi lovers, The “Pick 3 for 18.95” - shrimp tempura, salmon avocado roll and salmon spicycrunchy roll was good. This is the best sushi in Altamonte Springs (and the surrounding area!). I love the avocado peanut roll! The service is... excellent. The prices are reasonable. The interior is clean and well decorated. Bonus points for staying open later than mostplaces on Friday night. Ten stars! Read more

Came upon this place on Google and decided to try it out based on the reviews. We've tried the 3 for $18.95 deal and liked the... mainstream rolls - eel avocado, Philadelphia, spicy tuna etc and found them good. However the ones that we tried that wereoutside of the "regular" - the futo maki and the yellow tail scallion- we found to be bland and unflavorful. Ootoya is one of the best sushi places in town! I try to go at least once a month and enjoy it each time. Great spot for any... occasion, whether for a birthday or any other celebration, for lunch or dinner. There isn't much seating so it gets busy, mostlytoward the weekend. Sometimes having a reservation is better because there may be a wait time to be seated for 20-30 minutes.The atmosphere and music are always so pleasant and amazing. The tuna tartare is one of my favorite dishes there. I always gofor the All Day 3 rolls special for about $18 (was recently increased from 15.95 to 17.95 i believe). The selections of sushi isgreat. Top quality sushi, you can tell the difference from other places. Kids menu is very appreciated by my 7yo -- if choosingthe salmon, expect a big portion! The servers are friendly and attentive. Would suggest to seat at the bar if possible. Headsup: I was told they don't take reservations for party of 8+ on weekends, thought it would be helpful. Bottom line: You won't gowrong with Ootoya.
