This is my favorite restaurant in Altoona! My boyfriend and I made this our go-to restaurant everytime we visit. The atmosphere... and service is energetic and lively, and the food is to die for. And I'm always compelled to give a good tip to thewaitresses/waiters, we always feel taken care of ??. My Boyfriend also has a seafood allergy and they are always careful tomake sure his food is safe. Thank you for another amazing meal El Campesino and staff! Read more

I ordered a seafood quesadilla and it had 3 shrimp, 3 small scallops and something that was rolled up and rubbery. Might have... been octopus or the fake fish. Our server was great. Margaritas were light on tequila and we said no salt. There was salt on therim of our glasses and it looked like it was hastily wiped off. Read more

My wife and I stoped for the nite in Altoona. And we found this spot as a place to stop and eat. I felt terrible because we... walked in 15 minutes before closing. But I have to say everybody there tryed their best to welcome us in and make us feelcomfortable. They took our food order and prepared a delicious chicken enchiladas. It was the perfect fit along with a nice coldbeer to cap off a days driving adventure. I would definitely say this place is worth a look inside. And the food was fresh andtasty. Read more

I have grown up on Mexican cuisine. I have yet to find authentic Mexican food in the surrounding area. This is the second... restaurant I?ve tried and once again very disappointed. The salsa was ok, the chips on the stale side and not hot. The refriedbeans tasted like lard with a few mashed pintos. The burrito looked like an enchilada, the enchilada was a disgrace. The groundbeef was greasy and the sauce was unrecognizable. Who does ground beef? If I choose beef, it should be shredded. My husband?sfajita vegetables were old tasting. The only thing we enjoyed was the lettuce and sour cream. The rice was palatable. Read more

The atmosphere is nice, music not too loud, the staff friendly and accommodating. The food was okay. I'm vegetarian, and while... they offered a number of combinations, there was nothing that stood out. Food came hot and quickly, taste was on the bland side.I cannot speak to the specialties on the menu, though the grilled entree a fellow had at the next table smelled good. I had comehere two years ago while passing through, and I gave them a second chance. On the whole, a good restaurant but I hoped for a bitmore. Read more

This was our first time here. The servers were very polite. The food was fresh and in good quantities. We are vegetarians and... there were multiple vegetarian options available. The beans were a bit runny, but the vegetables in our vegetarian fajitas wereplentiful and delicious. The prices was a bit higher than normal, but the food portion size was good. Overall, it was a greatatmosphere and good experience. I would go back again. Read more
