Amazing atmosphere bringing a great combination of big city feel but peace (kinda oxymoronic but it?s real). Great food,... excellent service. Don?t be fooled while the pizza is often so are their other food options. Read more

sandwich was very good, but the salad was only lettuce and cheese. also, we waited an hour for a sandwich and a half meatball... sub that was about four inches long. atmosphere was nice, but the prices were too high for what we got. Read more

Nice weeknight dinner and drinks with friends. Level of service was on point, consistent, and relaxed. Successfully... accommodating of allergies and they had a vegan cheese option that was not listed on the menu. Get a flight of local beers andciders! I just wish they had updated their menu online, specifically with allergen and veg options information, but hey it'salready ahead of the game for central PA. Read more

We had a group gathering tonight and were wowed with the excellent customer service, food, overall dining atmosphere and... experience. Trey was our server; he was personable and accommodating to our group needs and the order changes we had. We hadpizza and salads everyone said about how good their meals were. They do have a real gem on the menu and that's the meatballappetizer -- I am not quite sure how to describe it except to say you taste the meat and not that 'filler' taste normally foundin meatballs there is a hint of cheese and the sauce is a full burst of tomato taste with a nice finish of fresh basil. I had myfirst experience with cider and loved it -- the strawberry cider was a nice balance of tart and sweet. JJ Hadleys is absolutelyworth the time to get off Pleasant Valley Blvd and make a short detour to downtown Altoona. Read more

This pickle prosciutto pizza was to die for!!! It was even better leftover because the cheesy and pickle flavor intensified. I?m... not a beer and pizza person. Probably one of the few but the Oh Golden was so light and complimented the pizza perfectly. Theview from the big windows and the space out front was so nice with all the natural light flowing in. This review addresses take-out only. I have not eaten in the restaurant enough to provide an accurate review of in-house... dining. The pizza, no matter which variety you choose, is exceptional and consistent. My favorite salad is the grilledvegetable salad. The greens are always fresh and the other ingredients are plentiful. However, the vegetables range fromperfectly grilled to mushy and raw. Grilled vegetables in a salad is a great concept - a wonderful complementary blend - butit is lost if the vegetables are not consistently prepared. For dessert, I have tried cheesecake and salted caramel custardpie. The cheesecake was mediocre - to be fair, it's really tough to excel with cheesecake - there are many excellent optionsout there. The salted custard pie was, quite honestly, the best salted caramel concoction I have had in a many years. Sadly, the slices (please see photo) have been tiny. For in-house dining, JJ Hadley's is in a great, walkable, spot in town across thestreet from one of Altoona's remaining rows of attractive historic buildings. The in-house dining experience is enhanced byhistoric ambiance but reviews of in-house food, beverages and service are best left to others with enough first-hand experienceto share informed opinions. For take-out, the entrees and salad are good value. The desserts are not. JJ Hadley's is anaverage, 3 star take-out option that could be a five star favorite with appropriately sized dessert portions and attention toprep consistency. Read more

One of the best restaurants in Altoona! The beer selection is phenomenal, among the top homebrews I've ever tasted, and I'm from... Wisconsin! I was delighted by the awesome indoor aesthetic and jovial staff. Vegan/vegetarian-friendly! A great time for theaverage price of a lonely Dominoes dinner. Can't wait to go again! Read more
