Love stopping by the Clam Bar on the way into Montauk. Recommend avoiding prime lunch time on the weekend (12 pm-2 pm), as it... can get quite crowded and parking can be difficult. Staff is always efficient and friendly no matter how busy they are. Theirlobster roll is consistently tasty with lots of fresh lobster and sold at market rate. Really wanted to love this place. My boyfriend & I came to the clam bar for some lunch. We were seated, our drink orders were... taken. They don?t have a full liquor license, expect beer & wine. Bottle of wine will cost you around $52 For apps we order adozen oysters. The oysters were SMALL & took at least 20mins to come out. $32 for a dozen oysters. After we received our oyster& two beers, our waitress was nowhere to be found. Other waitresses would walk right past our table & we played the waiting gamejust to see how long it would actually take to get someone?s attention. Took about 45mins for us to close up to check. For 12oysters 2 beers $55 dollars. I was hungry we so decided to go to the bar, so we can just order food. The food was good/mediocreI got the lobster blt, my bf got the fish & chips, we had two beers $75. The food is what saved this place from receiving 1star . Expect slow service & and pricy bill. Without a doubt the Best Lobster BLT sandwich that I have ever eaten. There was plenty of seats, you can either be seated for... a table, sit at the counter top, or stand and eat at a table. This is probably the best seafood restaurant in the area. Great prices, friendly staff and quick service. Make sure you try... their New England style clam chowder, you won't regret it.. Great experience! Had lunch at the counter on Friday afternoon headed back from Montauk.. The lobster roll and the tuna bites... were amazing. The lobster roll was packed with lobster, one of the best portions I?ve seen. Additionally, the staff was veryfriendly and kind, wish I could remember tue two gentlemen?s names who helped us.. What a different experience than two weeksbefore eating at a.k.a. lunch across the street.. Highly recommend this place you won?t be disappointed ! Read more
We enjoy coming here in the summer for lunch! Fresh steamers, oysters, amongst the fresh fish! The lobster roll is great too.
