Why do I still even try? Once again I thought I would try this location. It's only 3 minutes from house. As on countless past... attempts I ordered the vegetarian chili only to be told that they were out. Today it was only 6:20 pm. I asked why and was toldthey used the "last bag" this morning. The menu board proudly states the vegetarian chili as a menu staple and available. Thislocation doesn't treat it as such. I've asked at other locations about running out and was told they don't run out and if theydid they would prepare more. Cmon the manager needs to do a much better job in making sure she stocks and prepares enough veggiechili. Read more
I went there specifically to get one of the "famous" Goldstar burgers I've been hearing so much about. Only to find out that... they don't even sell them at that location. So I decided to try the "loaded" bacon chili cheese fries. They were terrible to saythe least. They used generic bacon bits instead of real bacon. The portion was tiny for the price (about the equivalent ofMcDonald's medium fries for $10). The only positive about the entire transaction was the cheese coney I ordered in place of theburger I was hoping for. It was excellent!! Read more
My family and I have been going here since 2004. This location is our favorite. We have never had bad service and we have never... had mediocre service either. The owner always makes us feel special and always remembers what my picky youngest gets. I hopethis restaurant stays open for a long time and am not too thrilled that the other new Gold Star opened so close to this one.We refuse to go to the new one because new is not always better. You just can?t beat the nostalgia, and family friendlyatmosphere this seasoned location brings to the table. I only ask that you please reopen your dining area. I love the lady whoowns the place, and loved eating with my family while talking to her. We have memories going back almost 20 years. My FoldStar location and am heartbroken we can?t make more memories there. Read more
Went at 8:30pm to get my son his favorite dinner after a busy evening. The hours posted online says they?re open until 9:30,... however they had just closed. The 3 employees that were outside were so incredibly rude to us after telling them the hoursonline said 9:30. They could have explained that they closed early instead of being so rude to us. We went thru the drive through got home did not have the chili in bag went had to pay again because they didn?t add it got home... charged us for an 8 oz which we ordered and only got a 6oz unbelievable. Read more
New packaging but the portions are the same as before...not true. I just got a "super" 4 way and it was literally the same size... package and filled the exact same as a normal 3 way was last week. Also ask for crackers because they are so cheap they don'tgive them with their 3-5 ways anymore unless you ask. This location needs to close. Building is terrible, staff is terrible, theperson who I think owns it or maybe just the manager is terrible. Go to the one on the other side of Amelia or to the Bethelone. This one is awful. Food is subpar at best. Years ago this was a great place but today it's like its just a bother to be in business. I never see... the same servers which means a revolving door. The dinning room never reopened. There is a newer Gold Star about 3 miles weston down SR125 on your right. Also after looking at the reviews I see that the replies are just cookie cutter responses and noreal actions taken as it looks like the the same problems just keep repeating.... Read more
I normally drive past Skyline to go to Gold Star but the portion sizes of Amelia Gold Star will have me doing the opposite any... time I'm around Amelia. I stopped today to get 2 regular 5 ways. The cheese and onion cups were about half full andchili/spaghetti containers were all about 2/3. $8 a piece and they had 2- 12 yr old girls wanting more after finishing them.Epic fail!!! Read more
