I have never been here and my 6 year old asked if we could stop there, so we did. And I am so glad that we did!! It was so good.... It definitely isn't shaved ice and it isn't ice cream, but somewhere in-between. The serving sizes are HUGE. We got 2 smalls for3 people and that was plenty. The inside is really fun too, almost Halloween like. My 3 year old was super disappointed thatthere were no actual vampires????. But besides that it was awesome. Read more
Edit: we came back again tonight and tried the apple pie shave ice and it was fantastic. We were the only people there and... everything went smoothly. I?ll change it to 4 stars as I don?t imagine the original review to always be the case. Original:The shave ice was very good. Absolutely no complaints there. We were impressed! When we went they were understaffed and it took30 minutes from ordering to get the shaved ice. The girl at the counter did say they were understaffed, but it was pretty bad.The tables that were available were messy and the chairs at the bar were cheap and felt like they would break at any minute. Ihope this was just a one time thing and that we came in on a bad night. I?d imagine it?s pretty stressful to make so manycustomized shaved ices for so many people being short staffed. I do want to go back whenever I?m in American Fork. The snowcone, again, was fantastic. I just hope that they can figure out these problems, if they?re persistent. This place is delightful. It is a quaint location, with fun decor that matches the levity of the name. The dessert is really... unique, a kind of shaved ice cream ?snow?. It is very light, almost aerated, and crumbles when you scoop it. We tried a fewdifferent ones, and they really did come looking like their pictures. The added whipped cream was excellent (believe me, thisisn?t some whipped cream in a can). They really care about the quality of the ingredients. We are already planning returnvisits. Read more
I've heard of Vampire Penguin for awhile now, and while we were out, we decided to go for dessert. This was our first time here... and it was a good experience. The seating is nice and it's spacious inside. They have a lot of options of flavors andwhatnot. Now, this is no shave-ice place. This is legit snow, or what feels like it. With ALL THE TOPPINGS. And when they saythe snow is flavored, idk how they do it, but yes, it's flavored. It tastes like it was made that way, not like it was from amix. Idk how to describe it, but I appreciated the blend of flavor. I got the s'mores and my husband got the PB chocolate one.We had mixed reviews on this. It was not a bad experience, and I think everyone should at least try it, but it wasn't for us. Iprefer ice cream over this sno-ice. They are plentiful on toppings, though, so if you're a toppings person, I think you willreally enjoy it. Like I said, definitely worth a try. Went in blind not knowing anything, and have to say they have the cutest desserts. This is not your ordinary shaved ice from... your state fair stand. No, this is high quality very fine shaved ice dressed up pretty. Perfect for girls. Guys take your datesfor a dessert has beautiful has them. One more thing to add...tasty. Read more
The best dessert in American Fork / Lehi. Hard to describe... Like what a shaved ice was meant to be before it disappointed it's... parents. Or if an ice cream cake and a shaved ice had a baby. Soft and fluffy, sweet but not overwhelming, melt in your mouthflavors with fresh toppings! So good. Read more
My friend and I visited for the first time this afternoon. We?d heard about the place from multiple people and wanted to check... it out for ourselves. We were not disappointed. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and I can?t even begin to describethe food. It was like a little slice of heaven in your mouth.
