The building may look unassuming but don't let yourself be scared off. Following the advice of some other diners, we simply let... the owner/chef/waiter make us what he wanted to make. It was delicious: wonderful flavor combinations, beautiful presentation, and well-portioned (not too much, but definitely enough). We'll be back! Read more

Don't be alarmed if you come in and don't see a staff member for 5 minutes-- the owner is probably cooking and will speak to you... once the food comes out. The owner is also the host, waiter, bartender, and chef. If you understand that and are patient, you'llbe rewarded with a delicious and authentic meal for a very reasonable price. We were in and out in less than an hour on a Sundaynight. If you ask for water, you may get bottled water for $1.50. Read more

Really fantastic experience here. The food is high quality and unique. The restaurant is eclectic and beautiful inside and out.... There was only one man working and both my partner and kids had good interactions with him. Would absolutely recommend. Read more

Slow service because the owner is the server, bartender, and chef running a solo operation. Once your food does come though,... it’s phenomenal. Well worth the wait for such great flavors. Plus the atmosphere is really vibrant and the owner is supernice. My suggestion is call ahead to order your food to alleviate the wait time, but this is a must try in Ames. Read more

The owner is also the waiter, cook and bartender. He made us some delicious root beer floats, an amazing dinner and made that... day, German Chocolate cake. The best place ever in my eyes. Wonderful Vibe. Read more

loved it! Slow service because it’s just the owner making all the food by himself but his food was unbelievably good. You can... also order ahead to alleviate the long wait. But the wait is well worth it! awesome vintage atmosphere and the owner is friendly Read more

We waited a while - only one man working the kitchen and tables, we were the only customers - but it was most certainly worth... the wait. Super impressed, exceptional flavor. Brought me back to my childhood days eating fresh arepas cooked by a Colombianwoman my friends hosted while she taught at our school. Definitely worth stopping here! Read more
