Seated quickly, ordered right away, waiter was friendly and checked in with us throughout our meal. The food was out incredibly... fast. Fresh food and it tasted delicious. The cheese for our chips was fantastic. I got the arroz con pollo and it wasincredible. The tortillas were also soft and tasty. Would recommend to anybody. Read more
Always served quickly & food come fast & hot. It's on the spicy side, but still very good. I would give 4 stars due to the lack... of communication of paying up front or with server. It's not just one waiter which is fine & works well, but being new tothem... it's uncomfortable trying to figure things out and waiting. Still, the food/ atmosphere was great. I have longed loved El Azteca and always visit when we come back in Ames. Tonight really set El Azteca apart. A large group of... my family (~40) came to celebrate the life of my grandmother and the staff was fantastic. They served our large group withefficiency, accuracy and grace. The food and drinks were excellent as always, and the service was superb. Thank you for makingour evening of togetherness such a good experience. Read more

A decent restaurant. The burrito was flavorful and a generous serving size. Wasn?t impressed with the flavored frozen margarita... or chips (thick, no salt, and not warm) and salsa (plain, not much flavor or spice), those should be much better. Read more
The service here is very friendly and fast! I was most impressed with how quick and friendly they were. it looks a lot newer... since the renovation but I was not super impressed with the tortilla shells and the salsa. Read more
