Best Deep fried tacos ever. I haven't found this style anywhere else and this is one of the first places I go while in Ames.... What's even better is that they have all you can eat tacos for $9 every day. Really hard to beat that. Read more

Came at 9pm for apps and drinks. Nachos were really bad. Ordered onion ring and had to send them back they were burnt. 2nd time... they were meh. 2.00 for a small thing of guacamole. Mixed drinks were weak and tasted watered down. I realize this college townbut 30.00 for 2 drinks and apps. Not coming back! Read more

Had it 3 different times, and while good the tacos (beef, chicken or pork) were pretty greasy. Both times I got the tater tots... they were way underdone. Chips and cheese is better than most, salty and just the right thickness. I rarely give 5 stars, so bymost reviewers it would be a 4, but imo consistancy and grease level nocks ot back. I do recomend the beef or chicken tacos, pork not so much. Read more

My favorite college bar in campus town, Es Tas wins by a long shot with their Taco Tuesday specials. However, visiting on... Tuesday can be uncomfortable because the place will stay crowded for the entire night due to the insanely low prices on justabout everything. People purchase whole pitchers of beers individually and drink for quite a while. Finding a spot to just sitand enjoy your dinner can become very difficult despite a reasonably large dining area. As for the tacos themselves, it'sspecial too... two words: DEEP FRIED. Yeah, I know typical crunchy taco shells are deep fried, but Es Tas freshly deep friedflour tortillas make all the difference in the world. Pair those $1ish tacos with a basket of tots and a pitcher of fresh tapbeer, it's no wonder I'm always at Es Tas on Tuesday nights. A fine point that may not be appreciated by most, but Es Tas doesfrequently rotate their tap beers as well. Given that Märzen is my beer of choice, I frequent Es Tas in the month of Octobereven more than the typical Tuesday visit. Read more

Excellent tacos, especially when on a deal on Tuesdays. However, with the place dead empty, the music was overwhelmingly loud.... Although they have great craft beers, they appear to struggle to sell through them, leaving beers to age. Come for the tacos, leave before the college kids get there. Read more
