Saw the lady making Poke bowls and putting it out on shelf. Grabbed one and it was DELICIOUS. All the deli foods looked... inviting. The sushi selection looked better than Wasabi in Ames, avoid that place as nothing is authentic there. Read more

I love this Hy-Vee and I spend a lot of time here as a Iowa State student. However I had a very uncomfortable time talking to a... food service manager. I asked about the rule on the soda fountain about reusable bottles. He was a little rude and brushed meoff. "Yeah, that's fine." I expect more from a manager and Hy-Vee. Not cool. Read more

My boyfriend stopped by Hyvee today to purchase sandwich items for our family. On his way out, he was stopped by managers and... was accused of putting merchandise into a bag. He had paid with cash and threw his receipt away like many other people do in theself-checkout area. Apparently, a manager ?saw him put merchandise into a sack,? and yet refused to show video evidence and hada cop on site immediately, and had my boyfriend barred from shopping at the store. What disgusts me the most about this place isthat they treat employees like trash and their customers even worse. I will never give this place another penny after thisexperience. Hyvee is one of the only places in Ames that has Lactaid ice cream. The past 3 I have gotten from this location we?re all... freezer burned. Which is very annoying as it?s very expensive. All three I have scraped the top obvious layer off and still thecenter is freezer burned. The other Hy-Vee locations I have never had this problem. After the third time I gave up. Read more
