Excellent menu and service. Great location close to campus. Highly recommend the avocado toast. Will definitely visit again.
Bar La Tosca will always have a special place in my heart. I love the pasta here, I miss the lamb fusilli especially.
I like going here to pick up coffee or to sit and work for a bit during the day. They close down later in the afternoon to... convert to the Italian restaurant. The staff are friendly and quick and the coffee is very good quality. Read more
The coffee was delicious! The biscuits and gravy was more like biscuit and gravy, but was very tasty. We had a few issues with... our service, and the gravy to biscuit portion was a bit much. Overall very yummy! Read more
The food is always fantastic! I have always had good service while here.
I had the steak sandwich, it was amazing. The cook was perfect and the flavor was awesome. My wife and daughter had the lemon... crape?s, the only thing that would have made them better, would have been a lemon cream/custard/butter. My wife also got thetomato bisque, it had the consistency of puréed pumpkin. It was eatable, but would never order it again. My daughter got thechia tea, she thought it was amazing. One rainy Sunday morning we woke up with a craving for crepes. With no local Yelp or Google recommendations we settled on Ames.... Not having any idea what to expect, we landed on the door step of Stomping Grounds Cafe. We absolutely were not disappointed.The Scarlet Tea was prefect, the Cafe Latte the same. Our craving for crepes completely satisfied. And the food was gormetamazing for a more than reasonable price. We will make this trip many, many more times!!! Update: back on Saturday, April 27th.This is our fourth return since the last review. Never ever disappointed. I have to give a shout out to Pearson. This place was super nice! When the option is available I always prefer to support local. I came on a day in which there were... clearly a lot of people there and only two workers. These two workers were efficient friendly and did their best to accommodateeveryone's needs. Though, understandably it wasn't extremely fast. Their coffee was delicious though not overly sweet.
