Pretty good veggie sushi in Ames. Vegan options marked on the menu. I got two vegan rolls, a seaweed salad and cocktail, all... were great. My partner enjoyed their fried rice dish. Service wasn't very friendly and the food is pricey, but it came fast andwas good. Can only afford this place on special occasions. Read more
Wasabi Ames: hard to find, harder to forget! The small, unimpressive sign (only on one side of the building) is easy to... miss... Don't let poor signage discourage you! Wasabi Ames welcomes you in with mouthwatering aromas and a lineup of chefs thatwould make any kitchen proud. We were welcomed in and given several menus... what to do? Where to start! I was so hungry andeverything sounded wonderful! We started with miso soup - THE best ever! Very flavorful with plenty of wakame and tofu. Weindulged in the pork and cabbage dumplings - highly recommended!!! They were perfectly made and oh, so, tasty! Next, for thesushi... I'm not a raw sushi person so I opted for the California roll *tasty and fresh but on the small side and the bakedseafood roll. THIS roll was the bomb and perfect in every way. It's VERY filling and one of the most delicious sushi rolls I'veevery had! My husband, the birthday boy, also enjoyed his miso soup and a few of my California rolls. He ordered Mr Din'sMasterpiece with tempera shrimp and inhaled every bite! The sauce, in his words, was "very tasty" and all ingredients "exactlyright". He enjoyed 2 beers with "Exhile Ruthie" in the name. *missed getting a picture. I was impressed with their lemondropand even more impressed with their Cosmo martinis. It was fantastic. We were seated quickly and the staff was really friendly. The booths were clean and if was fun to have chops... sticks offered at the booth. Our orders were taken quickly and came fast. The tastes were great. Great place to try somethingnew in the area. Read more
Pretty yummy food It was pretty dead when we got the restaurant so it was quiet and peaceful. The food was a little slow but... came out in a reasonable amount of time. Octopus was a little over cooked making it a little tough. Beef was delicious thoughand very moist. Read more
This place is great for a date night. Dishes are aesthetically pleasing but the quantity/price ratio is bad. You don’t get a... lot of food for how much you pay. Everything looks great on camera, tastes decent, but just not very filling. The atmosphereis really nice as well. Read more
