Okay, the food was good. Big plus. But the atmosphere at noon on a Saturday was awful. The place was packed with a bunch of... drunk ISU students and farmboys being loud and stupid, and this was NOT during football season, so it wasn't because there was abig game on. They were playing raucos, incomprehensible electronic music waaay too loud - like it was a hip-hop club orsomething. Attended a reunion here. The food was great the service was real good and the place was enjoyable.
Horrible service. Dirty plates. Waited forever for refills. Dirty plates given with Appetizer. Very rude servers. Ordered no... onions so did my son. They forgot to take onions off both meals. Fries were completely cold. All the servers sitting at onetable messing around right by the front door. I have never received this level of service in a sit down restaurant. Justhorrible! Read more
Sat around for 20 minutes waiting for someone to come take our drink order. Guest that came in after us were having orders taken... right away and given drinks. Every single staff walked past our table in that 20 minute span to see us not be served. Iunderstand everywhere being short staffed nowadays but when customers that came in 20 minutes later are being served and wearen?t, that isn?t acceptable. None of the food will wow you away per se, but it is good enough to be worth it, and they have some fun menu ideas - such as... those sweet corn bites (which I enjoyed.) I suppose the tradeoff for such a large menu would be the quality after all. They haveoutdoor seating, and the service speed and quality was good. West Towne Pub at the end of the day is a just decent spot to graba burger and some fried accompaniments if you live in the West Ames area. Read more
Had a lot of fun talking with the locals here. Had a good selection of ales. Staff were helpful and polite. Avoid the brownie... for dessert!! This must be a cool place to visit as I am back here during during week 2 of my visit to the area. Found theCaribean burger last time, and I just ordered it again. So pleasantly surprised to find such nice folks who actually want tochat about all sorts of stuff . Read more
I have been here many times with my basketball teams but today unfortunately they didn?t seem to want our business. Yes we had... around 20 people and we didn?t need to sit together but that seemed too terribly difficult. After discussing for 5 minutes theysaid they couldn?t accommodate our large group. No other options till we offered some but by then they just lost us from acustomer service perspective. Feel bad for the waitresses who seemed to be ok with splitting things.
