TL;DR This restaurant is the cat's pajamas and if you're in the vicinity, treat yo'self to the taste sensations at this little... off-the-beaten-path dining destination. On a recent trip to Hocking Hills, we stayed at an Air BnB in Amesville. The guestguide book suggested Park's Place, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is casual with wooden tables and a friendly waitstaff. The restaurant takes pride in sourcing many of the ingredients from local farms, including the milk. The creamerysupplies them with whole milk and a rotating selection of flavors. My dining partner enjoyed the cookies n' cream flavor (andtook a half gallon to go with fresh brownies from the bakery). My group hit up the place for dinner and decided to return forbrunch the next day! I had the mushroom swiss burger, which was cooked to order (I love my burgers rare, and I trust local farmsto have the quality of meat I need for undercooked ingredients), and crispy on the outside. I had a salty, vinegary Brusselssprouts side with chopped bacon. My dining partner shared his Nashville hot chicken (if you like spicy food, it had an ok burn, but we added more house-made hot sauce on the table to give us the "mouth sweats" we crave), fries, and mac n cheese. The frieswere crispy, almost shoestring style, and the pasta was tangy and gooey without tasting like it was fake. There were nosurvivors for photos. :) The next morning I was better about remembering to photograph my meal and my dining partner's. I hadthe southwest omelette and added extra veggies (you know, because health). I couldn't finish the omelette AND the crispy homefries AND the house-made sourdough toast, lightly charred on the griddle. My dining partner shared some of his biscuits andgravy, and ladies and gentlemen, this gravy was legit! I am not typically inclined to try the sausage gravy at a new restaurantbecause, as inferred in my earlier comment, I likes it spicy. The gravy was peppery and spicy and flavorful, as G Read more

We decided to try this based on the reviews and having tried their food at the Athens County Fair. The food seems to be really... good quality. We tried the hamburger and the fried chicken. It would be nice if they had smaller hamburgers as it seemed likethey only had half pound burgers. I don't know much about Amesville, but it seems like an odd choice for a good restaurant, orany restaurant. I'm glad they have something, but selfishly wish it were closer to Athens. Read more

Great early dinner tonight, loved our cheerful server. The only negative comment I have, would be the temperature of the... restaurant was to cool to take our jackets off. 100% worth the drive and don't leave without getting whipped topping either in abowl or on a desert. Read more

Holy wow was this the perfect hole in the wall for breakfast. They have a solid number of vegetarian options which was a... pleasant surprise. The prices were amazing but the real star of the show is the pie. We tried the pumpkin, apple, and pecan piesand I would order any of them again. Read more
