Breakfast at Speck?s was delicious. The restaurant is larger inside than it looks from the outside, nice and spacious and with... lots of room between tables. Service was exceptional, quick and friendly the entire time. Tea and coffee was always refilledwithout having to ask. Eggs were a little over-cooked, ordered sunny side up and was given eggs cooked more like over-easy.Sausages, home fries and toast were all very delicious though! Overall good experience and will be back again! Read more

Everything seemed like it was going to be an enjoyable experience at Specks today. Quaint small place, simple breakfast menu... and I was seated quickly. I ordered the breakfast special, standard bacon and eggs with home fries. The coffee was good, themeal took a lil longer than expected but I was in no hurry and I was busy tweeting anyways. Then it happened. The waitress, who was none too friendly from the start brought my plate. I was in the middle of reading a tweet, said thanks and took my forkto pick up a small homefry. When it hit my mouth the pain was instant. I now have a second degree burn on my tongue, the roomof my mouth and my left cheek. I asked my waitress who was 5 feet away for ice water. She ignored me, I repeated louder Ineeded ice water. About a minute later I got a glass with attitude. Started cutting the potatoes open and they were steamingpiping hot on the inside, even hotter than the outside. Well I guess my waitress was none too happy with me because she spentthe rest of my meal ignoring me. I had to pull a different waitress over to advise what had happened. I did so mainly becauseif they were serving literally blistering hot homefries to people they should warn them or someone should tell the cook to letthem cool 2-3 minutes before dropping them in front of an unsuspecting customer. This waitress was very apologetic. I told herI wasn't mad and thanked her for taking a moment to talk to me. My original waitress never said another word to me, even as Istood up and left saying thank you, leaving a 30% tip cuz that's just me. So as I was driving to my next appointment I startedwondering how those potatoes got so hot. They weren't crispy or brown or anything definitely not burnt. That's when itoccurred to me there was no way they came that hot off the grill, they must have been put in the microwave. I'm giving one starto this restaurant partially because they microwaved my potatoes to a dangerous temperature but m Read more
