The singularly best Margarita Pizza I have ever had, bar none. The crust is just extraordinary. Read their story, they were... taught by the grand champion in Italy. And don't miss the meatballs, they are extraordinary as well. And perhaps best of all,you may get a visit to your table from Luigi, the owner, who is wonderfully warm and hospitable gentleman who is truly concernedwith your experience and shares stories with you. I saw this along my route and was looking forward to a nice meal on the road. They have a great, three season covered patio... right off the bike trail overlooking the little town of Amsterdam. I ordered their wood fired pizza and hand made pasta - bothvery good and bigger portions than I expected which is always welcomed. Nice side salad and good bread, too. Gem of a place andlarge operation in what seemed to be a small town on the outskirts of a small, upstate city (Schenectady). Wish I had time androom for dessert! Read more

Lorenzo's Southside Pizza & Pasta is definitely worthy of the five star review. It is one of the Five restaurants owned and... operated by the Lanzi family in the Adirondack area. They have carried on the family tradition for more than 100 years. Theybrought their family recipes from a small village near Rome, Italy more than a century ago. Over the years they have not onlystayed true to their craft, but continued to add excellence and excitement to every dish they prepare and serve. The youngergeneration has studied from renowned culinary experts in New York City and have become masters of Neapolitan Pizza, whichhappens to be the Southside's signature dish. The Americana doesn't disappoint. Everything, and I do mean everything is handmade onsite. It was a privilege and an honor to tour the kitchen, look at the pasta & bread machines. Seeing an 80 lbsparmesan cheese wheel, was just the start. My time with members of the Lanzi family, is a time I will never forget. Thanksagain, and I will definitely be back. When you go, I would highly recommend the stuffed eggplant parmesan, along with thetiramisu. Giacomo, great job with the pasta making young man. We got 2 Americano pizzas to go and the bill came to about $40. This type of pizza needs to be eaten at the resturant. It is a... handmade wood fired neapolitan pie with fresh mozzarella and fresh herbs. The sauce is sweet and the pepperoni was slightlyspicy. Like i said this needs to be eaten as soon as it is done to get that wood fired crisp outside and soft inside crust. Everyone should try this at least once...it is hard to find fresh wood fired pizza ...this is not Is chain or franchise pizza. Iwas here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. All the employees and customers were were frendly and the place had acomfortable feel. The place has tables in the dining room, and a bar as you walk in. Read more

Being straight from Italy, I will honestly say that when it comes to "Neapolitan style" pizza, I can be quite critical.... Lorenzo?s Southside by far surpassed any expectation that I had. So good that the pictures don't do it justice. The freshBurrata was delicious. The balsamic calamari was perfect. The Margherita and Americano pizzas were to die for. The staff,including the owner, were super friendly and attentive. Best dinner we've had In a long time. Highly recommend checking them outif you haven't! Read more
