Wish I could write something about the food. Walked out after waiting 25 minutes at the front counter for anyone to talk to me.... Single person working the dining room couldn't be found for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Multiple other tables walked out with noservice. Consider this a delivery only place. Reviews show this has been a problem for months. Who is being paid to manage thisplace? Are you proud of the experience you're giving customers? Fix it soon or this place is going out of business. Update: Still no one in the front to greet customers. Takes minutes for staff to notice people waiting. Server walked away on us... before we finished deciding what we wanted to drink - literally walked away without taking the third person's choice of drink.Changed my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. Good food, although it appears the customer service is lacking. *** Friendly staff.Although, sometimes it could take minutes to get noticed, even if the place is empty. For me, it is Umami Burger that set the bar. Years ago, I remember eating at one of the other locations in Southern California,... and the experience just blew me away. I have since frequented Umami ever since, and each time I'm in California, I try to stopin for their delicious burgers and drinks. I find the history of the chain fascinating and I've even tried to replicate theburgers at home to no avail. I I have tried all of the burgers on the menu and I do not have a favorite as they are all sogood. Umami set the bar very high many years ago. The first time I had thetruffle burger, it was the most satisfying burger experience for me ever. I soon seeked out other burgers whilst using Umami asthe standard. Nobody could come close. I don't live in California and Covid has kept me away from my travels until recently. Nowthat my company has approved travel once again, I was in Anaheim for a trade show. My first desire was to head to Umami withsome colleagues and customers. Some of which were from out of the country and looking forward to trying Umami due to my hypemachine being in overdrive. We visited the Anaheim location and were greeted by a young lady who looked frazzled. The place wasnearly empty so when she said she didn't have a table for us, I was surprised. She said there were only two of them working andwe'd be happy to take your number when a table opens up in about 20 minutes. We were fine with that. We went next door and had abeer and waited, with my phone on the table, face up, anticipating the call. Service was very slow, I only saw two girls working the front, there was no Host, The Bar had no bartender, I waited to be... greeted about 5 min and then waited again to be seated about 15 more minutes. Food took about 20min to come out. Our server wastrying her best with the amount of tables she had. The food was great but maybe they shouldn't offer dine in, until they'refully staffed. Had a good first experience. Only negative was that the chairs were awful, they were so uncomfortable. Mango lemonade smoothie... was really good. The onion rings were amazing! Light and crispy. French fries were good. Fried pickles were good but really oversalty. Salad was fresh and yummy. Resturant was modern and fun inside. Read more
It’s decent burgers and fries. Very helpful, friendly wait staff! Parking can be challenging if you don’t valet and are... competing with Packing District patrons for spaces, so show up earlier! Four stars for fried pickles alone, I love to see themand eat them wherever I find ‘em. Read more
I had been wanting to try Umami Burger for years and finally made the trek to the Anaheim Packing house district and gave it a... shot. As has been mentioned by many reviews, service is amateurish at best and inattentive at worst. However the food is thestar, cheesy potato tots are highly recommended. The togarashi fries are excellent if you like spicy fries. The dipping saucesare a nice variety of different flavors for your fries. The burgers are not typical Americana and are very tasty! The placewould have gotten five stars had service been on par with the high prices but unfortunately they need to improve the guestexperience. I will be back but it's more of an occasional indulgence than a regular spot in my book. Read more
