Came her for an early dinner after hearing some recommendations from the locals. Arrived as soon as they opened at 4p and was... the second party so was seated right away. Was seated in the nice upstairs dining area that overlooks the downstairs bar area. Raven was our server and she did a great job. She was very friendly, helpful, and prompt in her service. Started off with afew drinks and appetizers. The appetizers were the half order of Drunken Clams & Sausage and the Tempura Green Beans. Botharrived within 10 minutes and tasted great. I preferred the Clams & Sausage as it was a nice mix of clams, sausage, potatoes, and chili flakes served in a white wine cream sauce. Hint, order extra bread to dip in the sauce. For the meals, ordered theHalibut Special and Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. These arrived about 15 minutes later which gave enough time to enjoy theappetizers. Both were nice, thick cuts of fresh fish. I slightly preferred the Halibut, but would've been happy with either asmy main dish. The salmon was served over risotto while the Halibut was served over couscous. For dessert, had the GelatoFlight and Pistachio Chiffon. They were both equally good, depending up on what you were in the mood for. Neither was overlysweet Overall, very nice ambiance, great food and service. Would definitely recommend coming to the Rustic Goat if you're inAnchorage. Read more

The ambiance is nice. Definitely has a laid back professional hipster chic vibe. The staff was friendly & answered our questions... about portion sizes (Thanks Raven!) If you aren’t sure whether or not to get a half or full portion of the epically deliciousnachos, get the half. Between 3 people, it was plenty! The deep fried cauliflower bites are amazing; definitely worth gettingagain. Their americano was smooth & delicious, good enough to make the trip by itself. Their lemonade was sweet & quite fittingfor the late afternoon. The fettuccine is definitely worth ordering a second time; the sauce was savory & those noodles tastehomemade. The salmon hit the spot & was well portioned. I found a hair in my stroganoff & they promptly replaced. Not only that, they comp’d the nachos! After the entree, our desert was a great end to the experience. The vegan chai cake was decent, theS’More was alright. My absolutely favorite dish was the Gelato of the day; vanilla bean. I felt like a kid again visiting mygrandparents & watching an evening storm next to a stonewall fireplace. Needless to say, I am definitely looking forward to mynext visit! Read more

How about those bison burgers? Yummy with the onion jam added a terrific flavor for brunch. They were yummy and cute. The steak... breakfast was okay, I felt it lacked flavor but good enough. The ambiance and decor was great and the service was swell. I’llbe back to try more items. Read more

We didn't have a reservation, but they had room to seat us. Everyone was so nice. The food combinations were interesting, but... pretty good. I had Bison sliders, the husband and son had steak and eggs. We sat outside which was very nice! Read more

Every week there's something new on the menu! Between that, the excellent service, and the atmosphere I will keep coming back!... This trip we had the biscuits and gravy topped with eggs ($15/worth it!), the fritatta of the day (leaks, mushrooms, pesto), andthe special of the day The Banana Split (yogurt instead of ice cream). Wouldn't be mad if they kept all these specials on theirmenu but every time I visit, the new specials are just as good. Be sure to stop in for this brunch on a Saturday or Sundaystarting at 1000! Edit: went to their Valentine’s dinner and it was a phenomenal experience! They served a 5 course meal and each plate was... unique and flavorful. I sincerely hope they do something like this again. It was a great experience. Adding additionalphotos. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Our party of four ordered a lot as we wanted to try a variety, so we had twostarters; the hummus platter, and the cauliflower bites. Both were excellent and the bites were a great size and not too big. Weordered a single serving of the drunken clams and sausage and were pleasantly surprised at the portion size as well as theflavor. Even though I’m not really into clams, the sauce and the other food items In the dish made it my favorite. The bisonburgers were juicy and the combination with the cheese was perfect. The braised beet salad had a good amount of beets and thepita bread was out of this world (it tastes homemade). I’m very impressed at the quality of food for the price. I’ve been toother places in town and spent the same amount of money and the food was lackluster. Great atmosphere and the staff is veryattentive. With the staffing shortage across the board I try to understand that these are hard times, but I’m impressed at howthis establishment really has made an effort to move forward the best they can and it shows. I look forward to going back andtrying new things. Read more
