Went to Ben?s Burgers with my fiancée spur of the moment. Very clean burger spot. The employees were very nice. But when the... food came out it was a disappointment. The only flavor/seasoning on the cheeseburgers was salt (or it seemed like it). There wasvery little sauce and left the burgers very dry. The cheese wasn?t even melted on the burgers. The burger itself was so thin,(now I know why they kept asking if we wanted a double cheeseburger). The French fries were good! They were crispy and hot. Thesalt ratio on the fries was good. Contender for top burger in the metro area! I'm a bit of a burger aficionado, and Ben's is in my top 3 stops within a 50 mile... radius of Des Moines. Fresh ground hamburger cooked to order is the only way. You can taste the freshness at Ben's Burgers.The patties are so tender and juicy that they would fall apart if it wasn't for the delicious toasted and buttered bun holdingthe show together. The fries are outstanding as well. Fresh, crispy, with a nice texture and chew that keeps you digging in formore. Delicious, juicy made to order burgers. Fries are great, the service is amazing. I come here once a week or so between classes... and ordered today only to realize that today was the one day I forgot my wallet. I apologized and was ready to drive off, butthe employees were so nice and told me I could have it anyway. Thank you so much! Read more
Very delicious burgers, fries and shakes. Food was hot & fresh. I didn?t have to wait too long. The only reason for 4 stars is... because I paid extra for a side of ranch for my daughter and got hardly any. Not even half of the container was full. Read more
The wife and I both ordered regular cheeseburgers. The burgers were very good. Not too big not too small. The beef tasted fresh.... We had a chocolate shake which was also delicious. I had to take a star off for two reasons. The fries were SUPER salty. Notsure if that's normally how they are but they were almost inedible. Both of ours were like this. Secondly it took quite a longtime to get our food. We understand if it was due to being short staffed but it took almost 25 minutes and it wasn't very busy.With all that said we will probably go back again and hopefully our next experience is better. By far the best burger I have eaten! This place is better than In-N-Out! The meat to bun ratio is perfect, the restaurant is... super clean and the quality of food and service is flawless! I choose this place over B-Bops anytime! They give the perfectamount of fries too!!! Read more
Great burger joint! My wife and I wanted something a bit more fancy than the usual fast food burger, and this place delivered!... We walked in and I believe Ben himself greeted us very warmly. When he noticed that it was obviously our first time here hewalked us through the menu and was very friendly with us, asking where we were from and what we were doing here today. The foodcame out to our table very quickly and it was delicious! The burgers were juicy and the fries were fresh and hot! We also got amilkshake that was very good as well. This was our first time here & I have to say it was a great experience. The burgers are smash style patties & the buns are... better than a traditional hamburger bun, & the fries stayed crisp even after we finished our burgers & had started to cool down.Ben even came out to our table to check on us & see how we liked everything.
