Great place to and have some quality BBQ. I loved the selection of BBQ sauces that are there to use because they can transform... any of the dishes you order. We did one of the big sharing platters and we loved trying the variety of meats and sides. I wouldhave been happy with of the food off of the menu. Our waiter was as good as it gets. She was nice, attentive, and even went outof her way to get us another corn muffin so we each could have one. The atmosphere was great and I can imagine bringing a largegroup would be great. They have tons of seating so I am sure you can always get a table. Read more
This is a good place to chow down. Lots of room. I ordered the ribs & burnt ends combo. I wasn't too impressed with the ribs -... tasted & smelled like some petroleum product BUT the burnt ends was juicy and tender. I'll make sure to order more of this thenext time I stop by. Read more
Bbq is just okay, relatively dry. Ordered the pulled chicken and pork platter with onion rings and sweet potato. Wasn't busy... when I went, yet the floor and chairs were filthy. Greeter and busboy were flirting instead of working the entire time I wasthere. There are other bbq joints in Ankeny, steer clear of Jethro's. Read more
We showed up for lunch with a team of younger baseball players, coaches, parents, and siblings. We had just over an hour and we... knew it might be cutting it close. The waitress was on top of her game and she let us know this wasn?t her first rodeo. Sheraised her voice (in a nice way) and told the kiddos that they had to be quiet and in their seats to be able to order food.Orders went in, everyone ate, food was great, and we made it back in time for the next game. Jethro?s is always good food, theservice this time around was outstanding and I?m glad we got the person we did for our wait staff. Loved Jethro's when they started... But as they have expanded, the quality has significantly plummeted. If you order takeout, be... prepared for 3× less food. Anything that comes in a styrofoam container (to go order), will be half full--sometimes even less.I've gotten the jalapeno corn only 1/3 full--take a look at the pics in my review, this is unacceptable. Jethro?s BBQ in Ankeny, very similar to other locations in Des Moines metro area. All of the food is really good, especially... their smoked meats. Probably my favorite wings anywhere! The jalapeño cream corn is great. If you like a good breadedtenderloin sandwich, you can?t go wrong with Jethro?s. Read more
You know it's good when the lot is full at lunchtime in the middle of the week. We had great service and a great meal. We had... boneless wings and the Boss Hog sandwich. The portions were very generous. The waffle fry's are great, coleslaw and beans weregood as well. The building is very well kept and the tables were promptly cleaned. Go with an appetite! Read more
Our server Marissa was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive even though she was busy. The food was standard BBQ. A few... original items and sides. The Boss Hog had pulled pork which was a bit fatty but tasted good. The onion rings on it wereunfortunately a little flavorless. I did enjoy Jalepeno Cream Cheese. The water was crisp and clean tasting. Everyone elseenjoyed what they had as well. Read more
