I blame this trip on TraderJoe's, or at least the clerk that told me to come here. Overall this is a great place. It was very... crowded and packed with people. The wait was not to bad. Nothing on the appetizer caught my eye, so we skipped that. The wheatbed and butter was fresh and had a good taste. The jumbo fried shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. The schnitzel withmushrooms gravy was amazing. Despite being busy the server was prompt. Why 4 stars? The desserts. 2 out if the 3 were marginaldespite the high cost and small portions. The carrots cake saved the day. I would return in a heartbeat for the food l, if I wasin the area. Read more
Metzgers was so good! We came here and we?re very surprised with the quality and friendliness of the staff. Even on a game day... we were seated promptly and eating relatively quickly. We both loved our dishes and will definitely be returning. Read more
The food is truly authentic, the atmosphere is upscale casual, but the service is what really sets this establishment apart. ... Maybe the not so secret, best kept secret, is they also have the best French onion soup (which has a very deep, rich, perfectlybalanced broth) in Ann Arbor. Read more

We enjoyed our visit to eat authentic German food. The staff were very friendly, especially our server, Laura, who was attentive... and helpful, and suggested some good dishes to try. My wife and I travel extensively, to include throughout Austria and Germany, and are always on the lookout for good German food,... and our meal at Metzger's German Restaurant was outstanding! We had schnitzel, spätzle, Bavarian red cabbage, sauerkraut, anda Warsteiner Light Pilsner to complete the German experience. See the mouth-watering photos included in my post.
