Food is delicious! Service is fantastic! Friendly, warm-spirited staff; this can make or break the whole experience. The food... tastes better when the staff is pleasant! Although this food is so flavorful and tasty it could probably survive a grumpyemployee. Luckily we didn't run in to that here! Atmosphere is just okay. It feels a little too... Not private. We've ordered Satchel's twice in the past couple weeks for birthday parties and were very pleased with the food. My husband... loves brisket, but after a few bad batches from another joint, we don't order it much. This place did not disappoint and willabsolutely be added into our regular party rotation. Breakdown of sides: Cornbread - big slices, very tasty. Beans - I didn'tknow baked beans could taste so good. Vinegar coleslaw - a little sweet, a little tangy, good "light" side. Mac and Cheese -this is not for kids. It's grown up fancy cheese (strong?) so my kids were a little bummed. Potato salad - solid and tasty fordays. BBQ sauce - spicy and tangy. Yes, it's a little expensive compared to pizza, BUT - we fed 5 adults and 4 kids for $120(family meal for 8-9) WITH leftovers. Husband and I got a pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich with Mayo coleslaw. Brisket 9.3/10 and was super tender. Pulled... pork: 7.2/10. Only because nothing is ever 10/10 ???? coleslaw could use more flavor, possibly lemon juice but that?s just ourpreference. They have a vinegar coleslaw too but we haven?t tried it yet. Would recommend getting a little bit of all sauces tofigure out what you like most. We enjoyed the house sauce and the sweet one the most, but the vinegar and hot sauce one did adda bit of a different taste when we did try it on the sandwiches. We ordered a catered meal for pick-up: brisket, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, mac and cheese, vinegar coleslaw and buns for 30 people... (not everyone showed). Everything was OUTSTANDING! Our guests raved about the brisket "being the best they ever had". Hugh(the owner) was most accommodating and personally checked that everything went well.
