This was mine and my husband's first time there. We went there for our anniversary supper cause I heard the food was good. The... service and staff were very nice. Even though they were very busy u never felt like u were forgotten about. Server and ownercheck on us and I also noticed they checked on other guests as well throughout. Came to the Thayer in interest of the paranormal activity said to take place here. I had dinner which was very good, and the... atmosphere/rooms are very well decorated. They have ghost tours which explain alot about the history of the place, which isneat. Over all I found this historic hotel to be more than I expected. 5 stars imo Read more
We went there for date night. I love the atmosphere so welcoming and homey. The patio is so cute. The service is geuine and very... attentive. The food was great. I love their menu has interesting flavors to pick from. My food was so good and was not a longwait for it. Good portions on everything. Will def be going there again. #honestyhappens Read more
This is about a fish sandwich. Thought you could post pics here but no. Ordered Oct 15 at 5 30 pm to go. I live literally 5... minutes out of town. The fish was so chewy I couldn't eat it. Like imagine literally biting into fish jerky. Wasn't over cookedbeing it wasnt burtn so this points to expired food. Fries were undercooked and old. Will be picking somewhere else from nowon. Best crab cakes I've ever had presented on a fish shaped plate. Atmosphere was perfect for a good long visit with friends. The... waiter was incredibly patient and accommodating. You pay for the ambience here. The cost of two crab cakes and a glass of winewould have bought me a large plate of food elsewhere - but not a quiet corner. Read more
The trains are loud. Really loud. If you are reading this, bring earplugs because they will wake you up!!! For being a bed and... breakfast, it was weird that neither of the days we stayed had breakfast. We did have dinner on the patio both nights. The patiois really great and the music was good! Now to the room. I wish we had only stayed one night. Bring your own pillows. The bedand pillows were not comfortable. The decor was super cool but the squished bugs on the blinds and the bee carcass on the floorwere not. Was it haunted? Yes. We had paranormal encounters in our room. Read more
Adored the place. We arrived at night and the front of the hotel and the outside eating area were lit up beautifully with fairy... lights and lamps. Great for pictures. We stayed in Gus' Room and it was so cute! Staff was friendly and helpful and the food waslovely. Not as haunted as I hoped though, but maybe that's because we didn't get the most haunted room. Definitely going backsomeday. It's a small town so don't expect to really find a lot to do. Read more
