Favorite Salvadorean cuisine. My favorite meal is the "yuca con chicharrón," which is fried yucca root and pork crackling... (rinds). This also includes shredded cabbage in the center as a side. I recommend reheating in an oven for better taste andtexture. My second favorite meal is the chicken sandwich, which includes fries. It's about 8", has some lettuce and mayo in it.Pretty tasty. Same as above for reheating. My favorite sides are red beans or "pupusa revuelta." Pupusas are probably atransliteration of "pupus" or "pu-pu platters," which are similar to "tapas." These are bite-sized entrees or platters, but inthis case, it is a fried, corn meal, pancake-like item similar to a 'tamal' in that it is corn-based, but it is flat and roundand filled with either cheese, beans, or a combination of both (revuelta). Lastly, no meal comes with a drink included, but youcan choose soft drinks, water, beer, coconut water, "horchata" or "jugo de marañón" (cashew juice). Horchata is the name ofseveral kinds of beverages, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley, tigernuts, or melon seeds (in this case, it's apowdered mix). Jugo de marañon is cashew juice, a light sweet juice somewhat similar to guava juice and almond milkcombined. Prices are very, very reasonable as is the quality of food. However, I cannot guarantee the best customer service.This does not deter my 5-star rating because I enjoy the food, not the people. Lastly, there is music videos or live fútbol(soccer) usually playing on about 3-4 TVs. Bought the Sopa De Res (beef) soup. The broth is tasty. The side order of rice is good it has carrots, and green peas in it. ... The side of beans on the other hand is a different story terribly SALTY. I'm surprised they're serving it. The staff hascompletely changed, I don't recognize a single face. Also, the menu is not the same, offers less options. If this place isn'ttaking Corona virus seriously I guess that I won't be returning. Cashier was not wearing a mask to cover her nose & mouth. My son and I were the only gringos in the place for lunch, Got a chicken sandwich and it came with a huge order fries for about... 10 bucks. The chicken sandwich in the sauce they put on it with cheese was awesome! I hope to come back and try the moretraditional foods there. Plus the staff was super friendly and the place was clean. I don't understand the bad reviews! I ate here yesterday and the food was wonderful. I got cheese pupusos and they were only $2... each, including side of Salvadoran slaw. I also got chicken and rice which tasted amazing and even though it was $12 it camewith a bunch of other food--a chunk of sweet potato, small salad, whole hard-boiled egg, AND fries. I thought it was verygenerous. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it took a while for the food to be ready, but it was busy atlunchtime and it's not fast food. I will go back! This is the worst place to eat. Terrible service if you call they dont give a shoot, get better servers. All the tables r dirty,... they cook the food then they save it and when u order they just heat the food and that's it all the food is dry and old and if usee the kitchen doesnt look clean for real I dont know how they inspection approved this place u can see flies around your food,This ain't food though... awful, I dont understand how latinos like me keep going there ! The food is expensive compare to other chicken place not only that but it taste horrible. I ordered have a chick cost $6.99... that include only a side order of salad and if you want Yuka it woul be be 3.29. After said and done you walk out at $11.xxwithout a quality food. This is my first time but it will be my last time. If any one wants good chicken I would recommendEdy's chicken on route 7, you won't be disappoint and price cheaper than here.
