We hosted a surprise 70th birthday for my father in law here. The entire process from start to finish was amazing! Jessica, the... event coordinator was lovely to work with, and all of the staff at the restaurant were great. Special shoutout to the serverswho waited our party, they balanced a group of 30 guests with ease. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable ontheir event menu. Went here last night to celebrate Mother’s Day and was a little bit disappointed in the quality of the food and the service.... We heard from others that Blackwall was a great place to eat so we decided to try it! I will say our appetizer of the flamingcrab dip was the only amazing part of our dinner. So good. But I ordered the Burger medium and it came out well done and burnton about 20% of it. Paying 17$ for a simple burger at a nice place I expected much better. I only ate half. My mom got the shortribs and said they were just okay. My sister really liked her Red brick chicken, though! As far as the service, our serverseemed to disappear for long periods of time when we needed things. We asked for a dessert menu from someone who seemed like hewas a manager (one of those employees who just stand by the wall looking out at what’s going on) and he totally forgot aboutit. We waited about 10 minutes to give him a chance or catch our server and still nothing so we got up and asked someone elsefor it. The dessert was actually good, though. We got the chocolate mousse! I don’t think the price we paid for dinner wasworth our experience; especially for a Mother’s day celebration I was pretty disappointed. We are not sure if we’d come backagain. Read more

The service, food, and ambience created a great experience. The view from rooftop was great and they had tables with a good... amount of shade. We tried a variety of dishes and everything was good. The clam chowder was great and the fried oysters were myfavorite. They had a little more breading than I would have preferred but the seasoning and overall flavor made up for it. TheSmith Island cake here was a first first for me and I enjoyed it. The frosting is more like a glaze and the cake is dense butmoist.
