What a wonderful surprise! I noticed this restaurant as I left Home Depot. All of the food is homemade, even the icecream. It... has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone was courteous and cordial. I started with the Southern Eggroll and Beetsalad. My egg rolls were a little spicy, but good. I also liked my salad, very healthy and pleasing to the eye. My drink wasthe orange crush, happy hour special. It was ok, but tasted a little flat. It comes in other flavors mixed with lemonade,which are more popular. I appreciate my server, Shante, informing that the salad would be large to prevent me from overordering. Good looking out! A group of ladies behind me who have been here before said their food was not as good as previousvisits. The desserts are reasonably priced between $5-$9. The bathroom has three stalls: one is handicap accessible, which isgood, but it could have been cleaner, and there were no paper towels. I ordered my Apple Crisp a la Mode to go! I was chargedan extra $1.99 for my ice cream (a la mode), which should not be. I brought this to the attention of the manager, and sheadjusted my bill immediately. What an amazing place! Had no idea what to expect. Chilli was amazing, as was the hush puppies with honey butter. The orange... crush was STRONG. Meals were great. Chicken and biscuit. Brought half of it home. Other meal was a burger grilledperfectly. Prices were very reasonable, staff was great, and bathrooms were very clean. Can’t wait to come back! Read more
If you’re looking for good quality and filling food, you’ll find it here at Julep. We had the homemade biscuits as an... appetizer, which were heavenly, especially with the peppered jelly. Then we tried the Dry Hot Rub Wings and the Julep Sampler.If you’ve ever been to The Hideaway in Odenton, then you’ll see the wings and the other bbq food here is almost identical toThe Hideaway— with the right amount of heat, flavor and juiciness. We topped off our meal with the Apple Crisp A la Mode,which was an interesting take on apple pie. Whenever we are back in the Annapolis Mall area we will definitely stop here again. Read more
The brisket with the collard greens and potato salad were really good. Not a long wait time especially since I went during the... day on a Thursday, and really pretty interior and nice service. Would definitely recommend and I personally plan on going againsoon. Read more
We came here from the smells of being nearby at the Home Depot and we made a good choice for a Sunday brunch. We came around... 1230p, which after calling earlier in the week, we were told towards end of brunch is best to avoid waiting time and we luckilyhad none! We had some great biscuits and wings for apps and chicken and waffles and banana bread french toast. Great taste andthe chicken was smoked! Definitely a great Southern spot in MD to try out. This is our new favorite place. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff are excellent. Several times when we've had dinner Bob,... the owner, has come out to talk to us. He checks on all of his diners and has a conversation with them. The wait staff are verynice and are on top of things. I recommend the crab dip, fried green tomatoes with shrimp, beet salad, and Waffled pig. Thecocktails are also great, and I don't drink a lot. They opened right before covid hit and are still here. The best thing about our experience was majority of the food came out hot. Service was good as well. 1. There’s a temporary... surcharge for certain items which are labeled on the menus in the restaurant but it’s not reflected on the online menu. 2.The wings were simple. We tried old bay. The southern egg rolls were good. Flavorful and a good crunch. The shrimp on the friedgreen tomatoes was too salty to me. The biscuits didn’t melt in my mouth like I thought they would. 3. Majority of theentrees were flavorful and good portions. The hush puppies were good. The glazed yams tasted similar to yams I’ve tried fromthe can. Not a huge fan of those. The catfish was simple. The drinks!!! Their cocktails made the visit there worth it alone! The bacon and feta brussel sprouts were amazing and the... greens were honestly the best parts of what we ate. Their pulled pork and bbq kind of items were lacking some moisture andflavors. The waiters there are amazing. Arturo or Alberto - Latin waiter outside was gold. An incredible waiter!
