A throwback, Mom 'n Pop NY-style, take-out sandwich deli with a huge menu. "Mom 'n Pop" are friendly & engaging. The sandwiches... are big & very tasty. What a wonderful shop, experience and most importantly sandwiches. We swung through town on our way to NYC from DC to have a... peek. Did have time to stay for lunch, we arrived in the morning but decided to grab lunch for the trip home. The list ofsandwich options is long and if you don?t see what you want they will customize (of course). Cheese is their specials so you mayfind yourself in a deep discussion with one of the owners over this or that cheese. Don?t be surprised if you buy more than justa sandwich or two. There are a host of other delicacies including crackers and spreads. But the hero?s are the sandwich?s. Getit? Hero? Never mind. Place is great! Just go! This place is a hit or Mis....and Today was not good. Unfriendly cashier/Owner. bread was not fresh and the worst she purposely... over charged me and was rather agressive while trying to explain the charges which were not in accordance with theMenu. Conclusion do not pay until you inspected your sandwich and be ready to leave it behind. Read more
Really wanted to like this place, but the sandwiches were just ok and the woman was so rude to us today. She rang up our 4... sandwiches to $76 but they should have been $52.50 plus tax. We questioned it and she fought with us. She tried to tell me itwas tax and a $3 up-charge to change from Swiss to provolone(?) When I said ?I?m not sure where you got this total? and added itup on my phone, she yelled ?you don?t even know how much the sandwiches cost!? Ummm, the prices are on the menu! I know whatthey SHOULD cost. Tried to run my credit card but I asked her to re-add it. It came out $20 less and she didn?t even apologize.We asked ?so the total WAS wrong? and she yelled ?DOES THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY?!? At the time I thought she?s just clueless butafter reading the reviews, I?m realizing it?s a big scam. Read more
The old woman in this place is a scam artist. I wish I had read the other reviews. Plus she is EXTREMELY RUDE. The food was good... but we will never go back for fear of having to deal with her and her tactics. Apparently an owner. I guess the tourists keepthem in business and don?t know any better. If you read the reviews you will see a trend with blatant overcharging and rudeness. Read more

Bree and Apple is the most delicious sandwich I have had. I love Granny Smith apples and with the melted cheese it is so... delicious. Sammy is such a wonderful host. You can go wrong with any of the sandwiches she has her recommendations too. Ask her. Read more
I have never been treated so rudely in a shop before. First of all nothing has a price. I think they just make things up when... you check out and hope the customer doesn?t notice. An older woman with a lot of makeup was at the register. I believe thatshe is one of the owners. She rang up our 3 sandwiches and then added an additional $11 and $2 with no explanation. We receivedno receipt. She was aggressively confrontational with my midshipman niece as my niece tried to use her account that she?s hadthere for 4 years. The woman argued with her about her graduation year and then her name. After we paid, the woman refused tolet my niece access her remaining balance on her account. The woman told her ?We are done! We are even! And I don?t think Ilike you.!? Who says that to a customer??? We were so upset at how the woman treated us, we will never return (even though myniece still has money on her account). We left in shock after paying almost $50 for 3 sandwiches and spent the next severalhours in disbelief rehashing the entire interaction. I later told my midshipman son about the story and he said he hasexperienced that same aggressive confrontational behavior, from the same woman, more than once. He and his friends refuse to goback. They may have good sandwiches in there, but the way she treated us as customers is absolutely inexcusable. I would stayaway. Read more
