This place is the best for a Chicago style dog and French fries. This coming from a guy who lived in Chicago. The dog is well... dressed up the traditional Chicago way, and you can almost never go wrong with that, but somehow others have. But the Frenchfries are the draw, super crispy, they melt in your mouth. I have no idea how she does it. The owner is super friendly andjust a real person. Dogs felt like your average ballpark fare; a bit scrawny at first glance but dense with lots of flavor even with minimal... toppings. Fries look spectacular in all these photos and I'll have to go back to try them out. Mirroring another reviewer'sexperience, I was also greeted by a maskless woman, possibly the owner. I cannot attest for the food as I did not even buy any. The owner was extremely rude. I cannot imagine how a business owner... expects to receive business with the attitude I was greeted with. I apologize it took me 30 seconds to read the chicken scratchon your dirty cardboard menu. Maybe she took offense to my mask, as she herself did not wear one. Best fries I've had in a long time. They're so good! Hot Dogs are good, too. But, the fries! Oh, man.
After reading other reviews perhaps my experience was a one time thing but for 8 bucks I?m expected much larger hot dogs like at... least the 98 cent pack from Walmart but to my surprise I was met by a dinky dog and my bun was soggy on one end, I didn?t wait awhile to eat it so I?m not sure why that end was soggy. The lady that served me wasn?t necessarily rude but wasn?t nearly asinviting as you?d expect from a little shop like this. Perhaps she was having a bad day but after all I don?t think it would beworth going back. Read more
Service was excellent. Very friendly. Food was outstanding. Chicago style hot dogs were delicious and the cheese fries were out... of this world. I highly recommend Z's Char Dogs to everyone but hurry up. They are open through October 16 before they close forthe season. Read more
