It?s a cute place, but my main issue is the food. Every time I have ordered burritos here they are extremely watery, it?s like... cutting into a water balloon. And inside it?s filled with giant blocks of partly raw veggies that take up all the space (Ialways end up taking them out and am left with a mountain of soggy tortilla). Another thing: the staff is very kind andrespectful but didn?t provide enough service. I came with my family and we were waiting for a very long time for the check, mydad ended up having to go inside to pay. But the main issue is the food. Carmelas in Mckinleyville is delicious, one of myfavorites. But the chef in the arcata location needs to be replaced or get a lot better at making burritos, I want all the moneyI spent in hopes that they got better back. Read more
We had an incredible experience. The staff and owner were so nice and made some chips in new oil so they would no be fried in... the same oil as other foods with gluten. They were very aware about allergens and catered to our needs without any problems. Thefood was amazing, great tacos for cheap on taco Tuesday and the Huarache dish is amazing. This place is probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at, don?t get me wrong the service wasn?t bad and that?s... the only reason that this got 2 stars. I?m a critic when it comes to my food and I expected them to make some good simple tacos,after my friend had been hyping them up so much, but they couldn?t even do that, their meat was chewy, and dry it alsotremendously lacked flavor. like seriously how hard is it to make a good taco. I was pleasantly surprised. There is a nice outdoor patio you can eat at and the food was above average. I got the mole burrito... with carnitas, it came out about 5 minutes after I ordered it. The mole is excellent and I've had a lot of moles, this was agood one. The carnitas had some crispy bits and tasted grilled which is how it should be. There was also plenty of guacamoleinside. Excellent veggie and vegetarian burritos - lots of grilled veggies and not too heavy feeling. The portions are huge and has good... beer on drought, and the mole sauce (while spicy) is mega good. Recommend. Read more
Wonderful Sopes, carnitas, and other lunch or dinner food. Nice customer service, quality food, and pleasant indoor dining.
