Best sushi place in Arcata! Sit at the sushi bar with yourself or one other and enjoy sushi while you watch them make sushi. ... You can also sit at the bar bar and have a drink and talk with the bartender all night. If you come with more people they canaccommodate groups of all different sizes as the restaurant is actually pretty big. The food just didn?t live up to the expectation of what delicious sushi should look and taste like. The Lemon salmon tasted like... regular salmon, the sauces were alright, the tempura was OK, the miso soup wasn?t very hot, the sushi rice was under-seasoned,and the service was spotty. Nice and super attentive servers. Good food. The tofu teriyaki is a bit sweet, but the texture is very interesting, I've never... had tofu made like that anywhere else. My dinner bento box comes with a spicy tofu roll which tastes amazing, and a salad whichis supposed to have shrimps but they skipped it even though I didn't even ask. I guess they figured that out themselves becauseI ordered all vegetarian items. They sat us right next to the fish tank because I took a picture of it first thing when wewalked in. Our server, Luis, was fantastic, but the place is clearly understaffed. The wait times to order and receive food were long.... However, the the food was great and very well priced. For appetizers, we ordered fried scallops and rainbow poké. Both weregood, poké was better. For rolls, we ordered #4, #7, and the special Coco cabana roll. All were good but the special rolls wasby far the best. Worth noting, most rolls were cooked opposed to raw, might be a common for the area. Read more
