I didn?t know what to expect walking into babes. It?s a family style eating experience. The waiter made it simple for all of us;... 5 meats, biscuits, salads, and sides. We ordered all five meats. My favorite was actually the chicken tenders. Decent sized andcrispy. Everything else just reminded me of your local buffet restaurant. My dad complained that the country fried steak waschewy. I wasn?t too impressed with the smoked chicken either. If they added a baked or smothered chicken in the future, I wouldvisit again. But if you have a big family and like southern style food, maybe this place is for you. Read more

I had not been here in a while, and since I had my broke best friends, plus one with me(my teenagers and their friend), I... figured this would be a good place. The wait wasn't long, considering it was a Sunday Afternoon. Our server was nice andattentive. The food was good, hot, and tasty. I ordered catfish for me, and chicken tenders for my children. You get seventenders in one order. So since it was three of them, it was a total of 21 tenders brought to the table. You get four pieces offish. It is family style dining so the sides (corn, mash potatoes, green beans, hot biscuits, and salad) automatically come withyour meal. They also offer fried and roasted chicken. The only downfall is, you can only take your meat and biscuits with you ifyou don't eat them all. They don't offer to go containers only little bags. Overall everything was good, and I will definitelyvisit again. Read more

Their chicken dinners are really good but so is the fried fish. My favorite is the smoke chicken pieces. We've ordered the fried... chicken pieces 2 different ways, regular and dark meat only. We did the same with the smoke chicken pieces also. We've orderedthe chicken tenders and the fried fish. Plus all the sides that comes with the dinner. Read more

Looked up places to eat in Arlington and Babe's kept popping up so that is the first place we hit for dinner. It is family... style, you order your meat and drink and the sides are just brought out for the table. Sides: salad (lettuce and dressing),homemade biscuits (solid biscuit), green beans (flat and very seasoned - very good), mashed potatoes (very good), white gravy(good), and corn (good). Meats: fried chicken (very good - I think it is half a chicken - not sure), chicken fried steak (verygood - cut with a fork), chicken tenders (why? But good - had the honey mustard dipping sauce), baked chicken (idk), friedcatfish (idk). Atmosphere was dark and cozy, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Most meats were $17and change. You can't take the sides with you in a doggy bag but you can take your left over meat. Would like to try the curbside pickup to see how that goes. Good stuff, will return. Read more

Not a lot of food for a whole lot of money. They said a few meat plates would serve our table of 6, we should have all just got... a meal. They ended up charging a vegetable plate to the people who "split" the meals. For a few more dollars could have had awhole additional meal. Waited about 40 minutes. Service was ok food was pretty good but nothing over the top. Read more

Great fried chicken & biscuits! Love the corn and mashed potatoes. The chicken tenders were good, but not the best ever. The... beans were just ok and the gravy was too thick. Friendly service. I?d come back for the fried chicken! Read more

The interior decor was fun, the waitstaff friendly, and the service prompt. The mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious. The... "salad" confused us. It was simply a bowl of iceberg lettuce. The smoked chicken was dry and hard. So, the restaurant ambience, decor, and service was great, but the food was . . . mixed. Read more

Came as a friend recommended their fried chicken. Started with a disappointment as they do not allow sharing of a plate - a... plate is a breast, thigh, wing and drumstick with a lot of sides and it?s more than enough for 2 people. But nope, it?s eitherthey charge you $11 for veggie sharing or you order another full plate and told you that you can takeaway anything that youcan?t finish. Price is $15.99 now for the chicken plate (we weren?t shown a menu and only know the price after asking). And Iended up ordering a chicken tender plate. The sides included iceberg lettuce salad with bare minimum vinaigrette, biscuits thatdon?t hold, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans. I only enjoyed the mashed potatoes. The fried chicken was really crispy butthere wasn?t a lot of taste in the batter - Nashville fried chicken is better, or perhaps popeyes in general (at least theydon?t do force ordering). We couldn?t finish the chicken and was packing, was going to also pack the mashed potatoes that wecouldn?t finish, but the server came and tried to clear of everything on the table and said that only the chicken can be takenaway. Even after I said I wanted to eat more of the mashed potatoes she just took the gravy away. What for? I did not ask forrefill just so that I can takeaway the food, it was just so that things don?t go to waste, what good does it do to just throweverything away? All in all, not a good experience, never again. Read more
