I came in alone while visiting from Seattle and got the opportunity to talk with the owner Helen while I ate. She is one of the... sweetest women I've ever met. Her and her husband (the sushi chef) have owned the restaurant for 20 years, and they know whatthey are doing. My samurai roll was amazing, tempura was crunchy and just right, even the miso soup was tasty! Covid has takena toll on this little business, please don't miss eating here if you are in Arlington. The prices are great and the food is evenbetter. It would be a tragedy if somewhere this good with owners so kind doesn't thrive! Read more

Hidden gem in Rossyln. Small, family-owned restaurant and a very nice couple. They have fast service and the best priced sushi... in the area and high quality too! Will absolutely be making this a regular go-to spot. Read more

This location is bottom of the barrel with customer service. I simply needed to order a shrimp tempura roll and was told NO. I... had to order from the specified lunch menu only. Note they have a full menu. It was due to o lu ha being 2 workers. I honestlydidn?t mind waiting for what I wanted to pay for. So I will not be returning. Read more

I love Kanpai restaurant - they're such a wonderful little locally owned restaurant that's one of the best Japanese comfort-food... spots in the DMV. Kanpai is best known for their fantastic lunch specials. When I worked in the neighborhood I would go over andget a wonderful katsu lunch plate for right around $10. But Kanpai is even better for dinner, and if Rosslyn was more active inthe evenings I think Kanpai get the recognition it deserves. I love going to Kanpai in the evening and enjoying their reallywell curated list of noodle dish specials like nabeyaki udon and zaru soba depending on the season. You can even get handmadeyaki onigiri that looks and tastes flawless. Any place that keeps a natto handroll on the menu cares about the details - I don'teven like natto and I still order it every time I go just on principle. Give Kanpai a chance to be more than a business lunchand you'll find a real neighborhood gem. Read more

Superb sushi and amazing teriyaki. Goya dumpings were the best! Reasonably priced and AWESOME food. Going back ASAP.

I just can't understand any hate on this place. The ingredients are always fresh as can be, the service is prompt and... professional, it's reasonably priced for the area, and everything's clean. Try the Chesapeake roll - I know it sounds a littleweird but the thought to sprinkle a little old bay on sushi was delicious and inventive IMO. Read more

Fantastic... One of the best sushi places I've been to in years. The fish was so incredibly fresh. The rolls were well portioned... and we'll flavored. The prices were average. The service was impeccable. The spicy tuna was flaming. The only thing that waslacking was ambience but being a stones throw from the metro station makes up for that. I'll be coming here every time I'm inDC-and maybe a few more times on this trip. Read more
