My husband surprized me with a reservation for our anniversary. We arrived and the valet nicely took our car to park it for us.... Were quickly seated. Our waiter was such a sweet young lady. We thoroughly enjoyed the wagyu meatballs. My steak came out veryhot and seasoning, delicious. She was very attentive, and service was by far the best. Scott made our night memorable by havingour picture taken. We also loved the key lime pie. We will be coming back soon. Thank you Scott! Read more

One star because I couldn't pick no stars. Food was good, but that was the ONLY good part of the whole experience. Our group... needed an extra setting and, based on our waiter's reaction, you'd think we just asked to remodel the restaurant. From thatpoint on, our waiter was condescending and virtually non-existent when we needed him. It took FOREVER to order. It tookFOREVER to get our food. It took FOREVER to get our checks. When the checks came out, our waiter THEN decides to ask if we areall on one or if we are separate. Really?? Mr. Vindictive (our waiter) then tells us it will take some time to separate thechecks. Finally, after another LONG wait, I ask where the checks are because some of our party needed to pick up kids, etc. Mr. V explains that his manager is running the checks right now. He then condescendingly tells me that "The next time you goout to eat as a group, you need to tell us that the checks are separate." No, Mr. V, that is YOUR responsibility as a waiter toask your customers how to bring the checks. It took us three hours and fifteen minutes from the time we got there to the timewe left, and there were MAYBE fifteen other people in the restaurant during the entire time. Is there a waitstaff school in theDMV?? If so, Morton's, please send Mr. Vindictive before he has a chance to "serve" other customers. Maybe you'll get betterreviews. Read more

I do have to say that for a first time experience at this establishment I was a bit disappointed. I wanted to check Morton’s... out before making a dinner reservation so we stopped into the bar. The decor is very nice, but we did have a couple of hiccupsthat distracted from our experience. First was my Morton’s $25 hamburger which with their specialty being beef I thought Iwould try. The burger was nice but nothing spectacular, but here was my first problem. As I took a bite I had an issue bitinginto the burger only to find the plastic from the cheese still on the cheese and in my burger. I informed the bartender who letmanagement know. You’d think that I would get a discounted or comped burger. They did offer a dessert, but I really wasn’tinto having a dessert. Bottom-line, at an upscale steakhouse like Morton’s I expected a little more. Second, I ordered a TomCollins commonly referred to as a Vodka Collins. A nice summer drink sounded perfect with the exception that no one knew how tomake it. This is a fairly simple drink to put together and an experienced bartender would have been able to take care of me.Instead I waited, and waited a little longer until I just changed my order to a vodka tonic. I just expect more from a niceupscale restaurant like Morton’s, but in this case I must have set my expectations a little too high. Good side of myexperience is there are other upscale steakhouses in the DC area that I can count on for a special occasion. I like therestaurant and its decor so I may give them a second chance, but that may take awhile. Read more

Horrible customer service! Scott, the manager was so rude! HE RUINED MY BIRTHDAY DINNER! My family and I arrived the hostess and... waitress very nice and pleasant both said Happy Birthday! Then my husband noticed the customized menus had the wrong birthrateand misspelled my name. The waitress notified the manager. A few minutes later Scott, the manager arrived at the table said,HERE, shoving the menu into my hand. He didn't apologize, greet us, say Happy Birthday...nothing. He was so rude, I felt lessthan. I often post positive reviews even if service is a little subpar. However, this was an awful experience. Read more

Nice place, good food, but be ready to spend some money. I tried not to like this restaurant but couldn't find any part of our... meal to hate on. The crabcakes were tasty, very little filler, and a lot of flavor. We tried the meatball appetizer too, andthat was good, nice portion and flavor combination. Filet mignon and Manhattan cut were a nice thickness, tender, wellseasoned, and cooked to temp. My creme brulee was delicious. The bread pudding had walnuts, which I do not like, but that's mypreference, even so it's a yummy bread pudding, warm and comforting. Even the complementary onion and poppy seed bread wasdelicious, so I saved some and had it with coffee the next day. The wine, Stag's Leap, was expensive but very smooth and richwithout being heavy on the pallette and complimented our meal very well. Service was great as well; our server seemed a littleawkward but had great suggestions and was attentive while still giving my husband and me time and space to chat and enjoy thefood. The only, tiny thing I wasn't loving was their website stated there was a dress code so we dressed for the occasion, butit clearly was not an enforced code which made it look and feel more like a casual, everyday restaurant as opposed to finedining, not a biggie and not taking any stars or respect from the restaurant, just an observation and a me thing. So why not 5stars? My husband always says no one gets 5 stars; this would imply they are perfect and have nothing else to improve on. Thatsaid, prices here were on the higher end, almost feeling over-priced. Our table placement felt like we were in the way ofrestaurant traffic, not very intimate and cozy. Overall, I went in with low expectations and tried to hate it but couldn't andended up enjoying the experience as a whole; we'll definitely be back! Read more
