Excellent! Wife and I shared the large hog trough. "Hobo potatoes" plenty of pulled pork, cheese, sour cream. I forgot to ask... for jalapenos. Cornbread was moist and sweet, and exactly the way I like it. We recommend it! I like that you can put your owntype and amount of sauce on. Original, Sweet and hot. There was a fourth bottle. I think it may have been a green Chile type. Idid not taste that one. Hot was not super hot to me anyway. But nice heat. If you're ever in Arthur, IL you have to stop. Don'tforget the jalapenos! Food was not good. Turkey was sliced like sandwich style. Slaw was lukewarm not cold. We had to go to counter and ask for... silverware. Don't think we will recommend this place to anyone for lunch or dinner. Stood at counter to pay 1 young lady takinga order and another one looking at her phone. Gentleman came around and ask if I had been taken care of. He was the only onethat acknowledged me standing there waiting to pay. Terrible service. Read more
First experience was amazing! I had a hog trough with tater tots. I can't put into words how great the food is! The owner talked... to my sister and I like we'd known him for years. Definitely would rate this a 10 star experience if I could! We will be back. Read more
I'm not sure what happened, but I ate recently on 6/2/2022 in the evening and it was really a very mixed experience. I ordered... the salmon and sides of hobo potatoes and green beans. The salmon was likely the best I've ever had anywhere. The green beanswere black in color and severely burnt and bitter. The "cornbread" was actually badly burnt vanilla sheet cake. The hobopotatoes contained no onions, green peppers, or bacon as usual and advertised and were very old and slimy. See the attachedpics of the burnt vanilla sheet cake passed as "cornbread" and the black green beans. The young, brunette male (presumably highschool or college age) working the counter was atrocious and had a severe attitude throughout my visit, even before I pointedout the issues with the food. He claimed the green beans are always black and the vanilla sheet cake was cornbread and thenwalked away flippantly. Not a single other word from him. He, alone, is reason enough I will not return or recommend visitorsdine here. Better options exist in Arthur. Read more
First time here and as others have said, it won't be my last time. All of our food was excellent. I had the dry rub ribs that... fell off the bone and tasted great. Others in my party had the pork tenderloin platter, the pork sandwich and the smoked sausagesandwich. The sides of the baked beans, Cole slaw, and apple sauce were also excellent. My first experience and it won?t be my last. Eating solo was a challenge when I realized there was no seating inside, however... the option to order to go was attractive. Turned out to be a great decision with outdoor seating under a glorious sun. Took myleftovers home to my dad who also enjoyed the smoked turkey, super yummy beans, very unique and delicious potatoes . We bothagreed the best cornbread ever!! Read more
We live in Asheville, NC and have tried bbq restaurants all across the Southeast and across the country for that matter. We love... Pauly's, it was a very unassuming place with amazing food. My husband had the ribs and said that they were excellent. I thinkthat their baked beans are some of the best that I've ever had!
