The parking lot was packed when we got there but someone was pulling out so we got their spot. It was a cold day so it was nice... not having to walk so far. The restaurant was quite busy when we walked in, they gave us a buzzer so we headed to the gift shopto look around while we waited. It gave us time to go to the bathroom too before being seated. The buffet offered a Thanksgivingfood with the typical green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles with chicken, rice and cheese, fried chicken, and ham. They have a wide variety of choices in their salad bar such as eggs, bacon, spinach, macaroni salad, different kinds ofdressing. For dessert they have a variety of cobblers, brownies (it was all gone) and bread pudding. They have Amish peanutbutter (which is peanut butter with marshmallow fluff) and Apple Butter to spread on the fresh baked bread they serve at thetables. Delicious! They sell both items in their gift shop. Read more

Been a very long time since any of us have visited this iconic restaurant. We opted to bypass the buffet, since none of us were... that hungry and as we age, we really can't devour that much food. Our waitress was super nice and efficient. The interior of therestaurant is huge! Many side rooms and banquet rooms to handle any occasion. They were very busy, but this was Labor Day.Overall we were very happy with our experience as evidently mostly everyone else or this restaurant wouldn't be in operationtoday as it has over the years. They have a very nice large gift shop and bakery, etc.to boot. Give them a try when your toolingalong interstate 57, you won't be disappointed. Read more

This place got so much hype that we were expecting really awesome homemade country kitchen type food. Instead, we found a place... that feeds a ton of people every night and therefore has chosen to cut corners. The corn was clearly canned. The pies clearlyused canned fruit. We got the walleye, and the breading wasn't really cooked until brown, so it was just okay. We also got thepopular chicken and noodles, which seemed to use canned chicken, and it had no flavor. We just found it to be more rushed foodand canned wherever it could be versus good homemade food. We wouldn't go back because of that. On a plus side, the servicewas good, hence the 2 stars. The food here was delicious and home cooked! So happy we went here. With all the fast food a good sit down healthy meal was... necessary! They even have a gift shop with so much to browse and or buy! I enjoyed the service and food would definitely comehere again! Read more

I was only able to take a picture of my husband's bread as everything that we ordered was gobbled up so fast. I would say we... were super hungry, but more that the food was just that good. Are waitress was phenomenal and attentive. Downside, this placeis soooooo popular that there is quite the wait to get in. It was crazy! After eating though we could see why. Definitely amust stop!
