I ordered the 1/2 lemon chicken with lemon potatoes. The flavor was outstanding! Would have been better if I received the... tzatziki sauce I ordered. The ?1/2 chicken? is actually a quarter leg. Hey this is a real sleeper, but it is "Astoria by the Shore". Look past the unassuming strip mall location and tuck into some... really great Greek food. We had moussaka and Lamb Shank over orzo. Unfortunately, it was bound to happen. We?ve been patrons of the Greek Spot for many years. We love their food. Last night was... the first bad experience we?ve had. We ordered our food, including our favorite, lemon chicken, for takeout. We were sosurprised, and disappointed, that the chicken was dry and overcook. Every other time we?ve ordered it it?s been delicious. Notsure what happened (maybe they have a new cook?or maybe the chicken had been sitting under a warmer for too long). The place has gotten worse, not better. Ever since they opened the restaurant in Redbank they seem stretched too thin. This... place is just great. My wife makes me drive the 20 min each way to pick up diner at least once a week. Food is Amazing!! If youhave not tried I would recommend the lentil soup and the grilled octopus. I used to go to Greek Spot 2 to 3 times a week for lunch. I always loved their food and convenience. The house salad with... grilled chicken and no dressing was my go-to however I would order other items as well. When my boyfriend and I started datingabout a year and a half ago he brought dinner over for me and got me the chicken platter with orzo. I still had not forgottenhow amazing and buttery the orzo was. Last night all I wanted was that orzo with the chicken platter. When we arrived home Iwas so disappointed. The orzo was so burnt I could not even eat it. It is a shame that they would serve any item burnt. Thechicken was still cooked good and my boyfriend's beef and gyro platter was good however we both ended up sick with awful stomachproblems later in the evening as well as this morning. I understand the increase in prices due to inflation etc. however if youare going to charge so much, it would be greatly appreciated to not serve burnt items.
