Came to Moe?s Original BBQ after arriving in Asheville late Friday. But not too late because they close at 8PM. After reading... many reviews, I decided on ordering the smoked wings. They did not disappoint. The side of cornbread that was sweet but not toosweet was perfect with the baked beans and fried okra. I give it four stars because of the amount of plastic and waste created.Please consider some biodegradable tableware and cups or tableware that are reusable. Single use plastic is not theway. We stopped here on a whim and we were not disappointed. Some reviews said try the brisket and we did. We also did ribs. Let me... start by saying, wow. This food was amazing. The brisket melted in your mouth and the sauces (BBQ & white) accented the flavorquite well. The ribs were tasty and came easily off the bone. The coleslaw was not your classic slaw, and was amazing. The bakedbeans were so tasty. The collards were perfect southern collards. The Mac n' cheese was about what you expect from a decentplace. The platters came with a corn bread ???? that looked finished on a flat top and has flecks of jalapeño in them. Theflavor and texture were perfect. Last was the banana pudding. Absolutely, one of the best desserts I have put in my mouth. Imean the vanilla and subtle banana flavor wells nothing short of perfect. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! This was our first time eating there, hands down ABSOLUTE best BBQ I've had in my... 50 something years of eating BBQ. When I finished my 1/2 chicken there was NO meat left on the bones. Collards I have to say wasmy second best but, still delicious! Baked beans and cornbread was great too. Hubby had pulled pork platter with sweet potatocasserole he said both were excellent! He found no fat in the pork (giant plus for him). If y'll don't stop and try this placeout it will be your loss!! BBQ (pulled pork) was a bit dry, although sometimes you just hit them at the wrong time when it?s been sitting out awhile. The... smoked wings are very excellent. Collards are good, Brunswick stew is flavorful with lots of meat is about as good as it gets.The cornbread is good. Overall I?d recommend, and I?ll go back, but I wouldn?t order the bbq/pulled pork again. Read more
I really wanted to give this place 5-Stars, but due to the fact that the Half-Chick was a little under-cooked (yes, I know that... BBQ Chicken can be pink even when thoroughly cooked, but it?s not supposed to be chewy and semi-bloody), and the corn bread alittle bit dry, everything else was exceptional !!! I especially LOVED the Collard Greens, the Deep-Fried Corn on the Cob, andthe pulled pork sandwich; which was so generous a portion that I had to help my wife finish it? I also really enjoyed the NorthCarolina BBQ Sauce?!!!! And I especially loved the draft beer selection, which was excellent and very cold? The atmosphere wasvery casual and friendly, and the staff was very helpful. Cook the chicken a little better, and find a way to keep the cornbreadmoist, and I could give you a 5 !!! Read more
Delicious banana pudding and corn bread, probably some of the best we?ve ever had (and those are two things I love & im super... picky about). However, reason it?s not receiving 5 stars is because the ribs were just ok, not bad but not wonderful (3 out of5) and came here for the ribs so was slightly disappointed with that but to our surprise the pull pork sandwich was really good.Baked beans, Mac and cheese and mud pie all ok but not great or something to write about. If ever we come back it?s for theaward winning corn bread and banana pudding ???? Read more
