Excellent food! Really nice people! Easy to call in your order and pick up or dine in. There is covered outdoor seating. The... Pupusas are delicious! They are corn patties with cheese and wherever kind of meat and sauce you like. Lots of other things onthe menu too. Most of the staff speak Spanish. Read more

Pupuseria Patty, located on the side of a gas station off Patton Ave is one of Ashevilles hidden gems. Serving Salvadorian... cuisine, the pupusas are a taste of comfort and umami. Perfectly salted and always hot off the stove, I have to say this is oneof my favorite meals in town. Costing between $2 and $5 per pupusa, one can leave happy and full on a $10 meal. The batter ofthe pupusa is almost always perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of char, and never underdone. The salad served on theside adds a perfect amount of crunch and acid to the meal, while also toning down the heat from them being fresh of the stove. The red sauce is spicy, and adds a necessary amount of kick to the overall flavor. Patties is a perfect restaurant to bringanyone too, for a reserved eater can enjoy a bean and cheese pupusa, while a more adventurous eater can add the salad and redsauce to create a meal with a balanced amount of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. If you want your tastebuds to betransported to El Salvador, Patty's is your place. Review from @Therouxreview - Instagram. Read more

Oh. heck. YES. Authentic, unassuming, wholesome Salvadoran food. It was like being in SF again where these sorts of places were... easy to find. If you are looking for posh, this isn’t your place. If your looking for real food that tastes like it was madein a grandmas kitchen back in the day… this is your place. Read more

I went here every morning this week trying to get my hands on a papusa and they were closed (or appeared to be closed) every day... but Saturday. I wanted to be grumpy about it but then I tried the papusas and I understand what the big deal is. I ordered twopork, two cheese papusas for $9.99, paid, and waited for my food. The wait wasn't too short or too long, but it is a bituncomfortable to wait inside since the interior is so small. No matter where you stand, you're in the way. Next time I'll orderand wait outside. It was very cool to watch the women work over a massive heap of the papusa dough. Worth going in just forthat. The papusas arrived smoking hot and smelled so good, the drive home was torture. The papusas are about hand-sized,thick, and crispy. They're greasy, but in a good way. They're a bit too big and floppy to pick up and eat like a cookie, so Itore mine into pieces. Between the two the pork was only slightly better, but they're both delicious and excellent hangoverfodder. One note, you've got to eat them piping hot while the cheese is still melty. Once the cheese and grease hardens, it'sless exciting. A bit like biting into a barrel of string cheese. The hot sauce that came with it burned like the sun. I used itsparingly in order to enjoy the taste of the cheese and meat. It also came with a side of what my American brain calls vinegarcoleslaw but I'm not sure what it is actually called. Tasty and tangy and tart, but way way too much salt. And this is comingfrom someone who consistently fusses about under-seasoned food. Four papusas was definitely over ordering for one but I managedto power through. For me, this was a one and done thing. I tried them, I liked them, but they are so greasy they feel more likea novelty than something I'd seek out again or crave. Read more

This place is full of Hard working individuals. The food portions were crazy big. Food was good not great. It has great... potential. The space was small and a little warm for me (but is was a warm afternoon) . It was busy for a good reason. The foodwould have been great if the Plantains and the Papua's spent a little more time on the grill. The services was good and kind. They just need a bigger update place and I think they would blow it out of the water. Read more

I had some pretty tasty pupusas from here. Best I’ve had in a while. The other foods on the menu seem a little pricey but... everything else looked and smelled dang good. I can’t wait to go back. You should try it. Read more
