Loved our waiter and the food!! He chatted with us and gave us good honest recommendations. My girlfriends and I sat outside on... the sidewalk which was nice on a Friday afternoon. We ordered the caprese sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, and chicken pot pie.The sandwiches were AMAZING. Read more

Nice dinner experience. Wait staff were very slow but kind. The mushroom risotto had an interesting flavor and was highly... spiced. It was very good. The trout and scallop risotto were also good. The trout was our favorite part of the meal. Pass on thecoconut cake. It was dry and weirdly tangy. Read more

Lovely, soft, ambient dinner experience. Live music in the background. Opened windows. Laughter and conversation while able... to hear your party. Excellent service, wine spirits selection. We had the watermelon/steak for starter, tasting light andsatisfying. He had the goat cheese corn pie and loved this unique blend. I had the warm fruit and local Brie which was lightand fulfilling. Reservations recommended. Read more

The Blackbird Restaurant is a great New American spot in Asheville with extensive options for vegetarian and vegan folks, as... well as with gluten-free options. We had a light-ish dinner here before heading to an event nearby. We had a reservation but itwas sparsely populated when we were there (around 5:30 pm on a Wednesday) so we easily could have walked in and been seatedimmediately. It's a cool comfortable atmosphere to be in and we had plenty to choose from. (One of us is vegetarian and one isgluten-free.) There's a whole separate "Vegetarian & Vegan" menu on their menu (in addition to plenty for meat and fish eaters). We shared the Warm Fruit & Local Brie from the "Garden" menu (which is separate from the Vegetarian menu and also has options!).You pretty much can't go wrong with that combination so we were happy with the taste and presentation. We also shared the GoatCheese Corn pie which sounded like it was going to be indulgent but was actually perfect shared between the 2 of us. These wereboth fine dining vegetarian dishes and, as I've mentioned, there are plenty more of those to choose from. If we lived inAsheville, we'd come back to try them all! Read more

The food was great!!! The service however was a mess! I'd give it a 5 star rating but the experience with our server taking... forever to deliver food to the table (due to his lack of entering the order to the kitchen) definitely knocked a star off. Hadthe manager not given us 50% off the bill (excluding alcohol) it would have been a 2 star review as it was a laborious processto get our food and we were running late by the end of brunch for our 2pm scheduled time if arrival for the Biltmore and endedup getting our food to go. But again, the manager did his best to make it right. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely check itour again, as the food did not disappoint and the ambiance was adorable. Read more
