Saw this on maps close to our hotel, had great reviews. And I agree with them. Food was great and great value for what we got.... Left very full and didn't even need to have lunch on drive home. Definitely will come back to try lunch next time in Asheville. Read more

Love this place as a local! The space is a little small, so it can seem really busy at times. Service is always friendly and the... food isn't anything fancy, but tastes delicious ???? Read more

I was in the area and have always loved a little mom and pop place to eat. The place was clean except the bathrooms. I think... they could be cleaner. I had to use the men's room because the female bathroom door wouldn't close. I ordered the grits, baconand eggs and my husband ordered the other in the photo. The breakfast was great except the grits. They had no flavor and theywere very watery. I'm a huge grit lover and always get them with my breakfast. Idk if it's just the cook but I've never hadsoupy grits. I would love to come back to this place in the future but I do hope they can get the grits correct next time. Read more

The Hungry Bear Cafe is a friendly, down home stop for breakfast with the locals. I'm so glad we passed by all the chain... restaurants to try this spot out. Some of the tables/seating are a little awkward, but it all works out fine. Service wasfriendly and efficient. Our food arrived quickly and was prepared freshly. My omelette wasn't dry, which I appreciated. Thefluffy biscuits are fantastic with some butter or even apple butter. Read more

Don?t go if you?re not a ?regular?, or not conservative, Christian. We got there the same time the ?regulars? did. They ordered... got there food and finished before we got our food. Over priced and not very good food for Asheville, or anywhere. Got a veggieomelette with cheese and maybe had a little sprinkle of cheese. The same for my sons cheese eggs. Had the good Christian musicplaying in the background though along with the wall attire. First bad meal I?ve had in Asheville. I?ll drive 6 seconds down toWaffle House. Read more

Good little local spot. Food was inexpensive, came quickly, and the coffee was good. Not a ton of veg options if you're worried... about that. But if you want country style breakfast they have loads of options. Read more

I stopped on a trip to TN. It really close to I-40 which I love but the food was just pretty good. I ordered the Super Bear Bowl... with the white gravy and it was average. The biscuit was anything special but the combination of the "bowl" made up for it. I'dstop again because of the convenience off the highway and my preference for "local" restaurants when on trips, but I wouldn'tmake a special trip. Read more
