Love this place! A real Ashland institution for many decades. It's a classic old-school diner vibe here, and the menu has tons... of yummy comfort food- well beyond the standard fare for a burger joint. And since it's Ashland- there are even vegetarian andvegan choices. My favorite part is how friendly and welcoming everyone is here, they really do put the customer first. Callahead with your order if you're in a rush, they don't mind at all. Look for them on DoorDash as well. Read more
Perfect for burger cravings lol. I had a long day and needed to stop somewhere for food before going home and I heard a lot of... good things about this place. I got the bean burger because I was genuinely curious. It was so good. It had refried beans, picode gallo, cilantro, and cheese and all the works. Fries were warm, malt was delicious. Thank you ???? I got a burger and a side of chili fries. The burger was fine but the chili they used was bland and boring. Just meat and beans... with not much flavor. I hope it was canned and not their recipe. Read more
First trying out Big Al's and was amazing from the first step inside the door. I was greeted with a smile how ya doing and what... can I get for you today. The food was just as good as it sounded on the menu. I had the ABC burger comes with fresh avocado,onion,lettuce,bacon,burger patty, house mustard sauce and mayo .It was delicious the bacon was cooked just right and just theright amount crisp to it. Also got a order of chili fries and they we're just as good . Also got a bacon burger that came witheverything ABC burger except minus the avocado . Talk about a overrated, overpriced wannabe "Drive-In"! More like an overglorified Mexican restaurant. The cheapskate, pushy... owner of this place has got it made since it seems all the brown nosing Libs in Ashland don't know what a good burger or realDrive-In is. Paid $5 for what I thought was going to be a "large" side order of fries with my about average tasting, overpricedburger.. What I got instead was half a basket of, over fried, extremely short, hollow, crinkle cut fries! (See pic). Absolutelyinedible! Then tries to charge me 50 cents for sauce aftet spending almost $35! I feel this was personal since the owner of thisplace was being pretty rude with me from the get go, most likely because he didn't like something about my appearance. He'soverly pushy about the muzzle policy yet his restaurant was stuffy with no A/C, running or doors open and it was dirty. Firstand last time eating here. Left here still hungry, disappointed, with a lighter wallet. There's much better burger joints outthere, even the some of the chain places would put this place to shame! Read more
Simple and delicious. This place looks like it hasn't changed since the day it opened, and that's a good thing! Burger joint... staples like patty melts, pastrami burgers, onion rings, tots. Who could ask for more? The menu has heaps of burger options,shakes, and Mexican food. Big juicy portions, classic atmosphere, and the nicest staff you could ask for. Exactly what you'd expect: good burgers at a good price. This place hasn't changed in a million years. The meat is seasoned... well, the fries are salted, the lettuce is crunchy. It's just a solid spot. P.S. don't forget the fry sauce. Wouldrecommend. Will return. Read more
Friendly service. Bad (burnt) deep fried food. In the same order of fries some will be white (uncooked) and some will be so over... done there is only a dark brown crust with no potato left inside. Don't even think about the fish. Read more
